‘Ghostbusters 3’ Is ’a Possibility’ Admits Bill Murray

The comedy icon hasn’t thrown in the towel on this sequel just yet, despite what Dan Aykroyd says.

In late February, it seemed that Dan Aykroyd had thrown in the towel in terms of getting Bill Murray to return for Ghostbusters 3. He was quoted as saying that the actor would not return, and that was the final verdict.

"At this point it's in suspended animation. The studio, the director Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis feel there must be a way to do it, but Bill Murray will not do the movie."

Now, the great back-and-forth continues!

Bill Murray was on local Chicago news station WGN yesterday, talking baseball at Cubs Park. He was asked about the ever-lingering sequel, and his definitive answer was not "No" as was expect. Instead, he offered a bit of hope.

"It's a possibility."

The comedy icon then went onto hype up his latest movie Moonrise Kingdom, calling it "really, really funny." Click on the interview, his comments about Ghostbusters 3 come at the 2:48 mark.

If Ivan Reitman really wants to get Ghostbusters 3 made with Bill Murray, he needs to take a page out of the DVD commentary for his own comedy Meatballs: Start shooting it and he'll just show up!

Seriously, at this point, does anyone even care about Ghostbusters 3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Ghostbusters comes to theaters July 22nd, 2016 and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon. The film is directed by Paul Feig.

Ghostbusters 3 has long being procrastinated with for far too long, they should of released this in the early 90's if you ask me, it would of being much better if they we're taking about a 4th Ghostbusters movie right now, if they made the 3rd in the 90's that would've of worked out so much better for the company Columbia Pictures & the actors. But Bill is obviously taking his gut feeling on this & if he feel's this way? Then that's the way this should be.

Not this again, either say yes Bill or move on with the project. To be honest it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me is Bill was in or not.

Rick Moranis was also slated to come out of retirement yet his name mysteriously has disappeared from the cast list...

No, but seriously, I thought they were over this Bill Murray bullsh*t. It was set to go into production, now it's once again in development hell? This is retarded. All because of Bill Murray. Wow.

My best guess is everywhere he goes he gets the same question so he finally caved in and gave a fake answer.
Have anyone else noticed he looked taken back when the guy mentioned Ghostbusters but avoided the issue. he also looked like he didn't want to be there.

I speak from great experience here, and it sounds like Bill Murray put Ghostbusters 3 in the friend zone.
