Fringe writer-producers Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner are teaming up with Paramount Television for a TV adaptation of the hit 1990 drama Ghost, which starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner will write the pilot script, although no story details were released at this time. Here's what Paramount Television president Amy Powell had to say about the project in a statement.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama."

Jerry Zucker directed the original Ghost, which follows a man (Patrick Swayze) who is killed by a mugger, but returns to the woman (Demi Moore) he loves as a ghost. No production schedule was given for the TV series.
