Geoff Johns say Green Lantern looks fantastic
Comic Book Rescources recently posted their annual 20 question reader Q&A with DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns.

Among the things that fans wanted to know were what possible DC comics might eventually make it to the big screen?

"I can't get into the exact DC slate right now, but we're all working heavily on what that is with Warner Bros. and there will be news forthcoming. But, you can bet there is going to be a lot more than there is right now."

Johns also had some comments on the production of the Green Lantern. Specifically, he discussed the look of the film and his thoughts of seeing Ryan Reynolds in the coveted role.

The movie looks fantastic. I'm heading back down to New Orleans in a few weeks, but I just watched the Abin Sur/Hal Jordan dailies, and it's amazing seeing that ring passed to Hal in live action. Abin Sur looks kick-ass. They did such a great job. They've got Grant [Major] as a production designer. He's from The Lord of the Rings, and the visuals on this film are nothing like you could imagine. It's definitely a Green Lantern fan's dream. For me, it's kind of insane to see this stuff come to life. And Ryan Reynolds is a perfect Hal Jordan. He brings a lot of humor to it, but he also has the humanity that Hal has. And a little bit of the arrogance, so it's a great match.

Green Lantern was released June 17th, 2011 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Mike Doyle. The film is directed by Martin Campbell.

F*CK SAM L!!! He's loud mouthed overacting ass is getting annoying. Unless he's doing something indie like RESURRECTING THE CHAMP or UNBREAKABLE, he needs to shut up for a change. Maybe play a librarian or a MUTE!

Idris Elba! that man was smooth as silk in THE WIRE. That alone showed his talent! Not yet fully utilized in a proper movie role, but the boy's got skill!!!

@dfella, Common can't act. Not on the level of Stewart at least, nor does he have anything in common with the character. Jai White would just make the role corny and a bit stereotypical.

Idris Elba would be the perfect Stewart (age wise, acting wise, even looks a bit)

Anyways, great news. Johns has been doing wonders with GL so this is awesome.

I like the idea of the CG suit especially since from the context of the comics the suit is actually a construct of the rings energy. More so than any character, Green Lantern lends itself almost perfectly to CGI b/c of the properties of the ring.

still think reynolds is gonna be typical wise-cracking, sarcastic reynolds... no different from other roles. i hope it doesnt overshadow the HJ/GL character.

Hearing those words from JEFF JOHNS means a lot to me. I still hope RYAN turns down the humor. HAL is more arrogance with a touch of humor...NOT the other way around!

The sooner we see footage the better. Thor, Captain America and Green Lantern are all going to be fighting it out next year. It'll be interesting to see which one does better.

Nothing about this movie sounds bad, and hopefully that will not change. As of now, I'm looking forward to this slightly more than Thor, but that could easily change over the next year.
