I will ofcourse give it a chance, and try to see it with an open mind... who knows,.. it may actually turn out quite good.. i was skeptical when they remade Chainsaw massacre aswell.. had to eat my words then... Good to hear Raimi, Campbell & co has been involved.. BTW Chainsaw 3D.. thats another story.. does not look good..

Disgusting.... the girls voice in the beginning is kinda annoying, I miss the original movies dark humor, go and watch the original, and thats it !

@evilwhitemale I stopped watching it halfway through simply because I'm afraid they'll spoil some of the best moments here... Still super excited though...

@ollie-styrene Raimi co-wrote it, produced it, and handpicked the director.

Gorgeous visuals, great camera angles, great references but even more i don't know improved...the film Raimi was limited to doing donbe afresh and gorier.

It was not a studio frenzied ideal, the property is all related to Raimi and Campbell and co. is was their decision, and i respect that they wish for creative film makers to jump on board and make it an even more revolutionary ride. It seems set to change the face of horror as we know it, perhaps so, much as the original :P i am so geared and literally sweaty palmed for this flick.

This looks to be set as a modern classic, or is not another cultastic wandering

  22. Geekster

@ollie-styrene that is not there aim, its for a modern audience, but trying to revive that shock horror value that was so heavily funded by the original Evil Dead film :)

  23. Vincente 'Avengers' Alonso

@ollie-styrene Sam Raimi, Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell have all been a part of this movies production. The decision to not recast Ash Williams was actually Campbell's.

I mean... you can remake Evil Dead all you want,.. and this movie is probably pretty good,.. but the feeling and the awesomeness of the original will never be surpassed,.. no matter how big budged you have... Has Sam Raimi had anything to do with this???

It looks too gross for its own good. It's homaging the original two Evil Dead films, but in a messy kind of way. And it doesn't seem to be aware of how silly some of the goriness is. It's one thing to cringe when something's gross, but to cringe when something's trying too hard is a whole other story.
