Franklin Delano Roosevelt Makes an Appearance on the 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Set

Director Marc Webb unveils yet another unusual photo from his Marvel sequel, giving no hints about its meaning.
To keep track of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 while its in production, all you need to do is follow director Marc Webb on Twitter. The filmmaker has been posting new photos and videos from the set nearly every day, and this blustery Wednesday afternoon is no exception. A bizarre collage of U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt has appeared on the set, but we've been given no hints about its origin or meaning. Check it out for yourself, and see if you can decipher the hidden messages held within. What do FDR and Spider-Man have in common? Will Peter Parker be confined to a wheelchair for a spell? Is Barry Bostwick or Bill Murray making a cameo? We just don't know.

@narrator Yeah, you see what happens when you are a big fan of something and you get disappointed so bad?
Like a smelly punch to your face it's what that is. Smelly.

Oh, @bawnian-dexeus. Lol. I totally agree with you there. It's only a matter of time before free or inexpensive social networking sites become hives for studios to flood with cheap advertisement campaigns. In a way, we saw that with The Dark Knight Rises. They allowed any old fan made posters posted via ads on social networking sites to be a "theatrical" poster, and it was pretty terrible.

@narrator Meant it in general. I agree on social network sites, along with the Instagram, that it is cheap and easy to use for marketing. I can still foresee sh*tty posters being made.

Lol, @the-crow2k. Everyone on this site is well aware of your dislike of TASM, but I think using twitter is pretty ingenious and cheap. True, the daily release is getting irritating (looking at both Webb and Singer), but the idea of using twitter is smart, cheap, and easy. What studio wants to waste money on advertising when it's free?

It's funny that you mention that, @ChiRep-1. This sequel has the same writers as Star Trek and Into Darkness. Perhaps that's what Webbs going for? Eh.

They don't have any money for marketing, so they're using twitter.
