I´ve heard something about making a film of the great PSX-Game Final Fantasy 8 by Squaresoft. The film company Square Pictures told, after Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, they want to make some more movies in this animated style. I like the first film of them, so i would like to see more movies by Square. And i also love the game Final Fantasy 8 ! But i´ve nothing found in the web about this...
So can anybody tell me if this information of making a movie of FF8 is true?
Not that I've heard. They ARE releasing the second true Final Fantasy sequel though. After breaking new ground with Final Fantasy X-2, They're now coming up with a sequel to Final Fantasy VII, but it's not a game. It will be a 60 minute CG movie called Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. I think it's going to be released on DVD, but I couldn't tell you for sure. There's a fair bit of information available on the ne (try IGN for starters), but it does look very cool from what I've seen. The CG work is amazing.

I would love to see a FF8 movie that would be Awsome I do beleave.
First of all The Spirits Within rocks. I have spoken so I wont hear any more on the matter, if you disagree then you're just p[laine wrong. Secondly Final Fantasy VIII was what 50-60 hours long. Who would actually sit in the theatre for that ammount of time? Would any of them dare buy a large coke? I doubt it. The only sollution would be to hack up the story to a 2-3 hour running time which would leave it; well suc king actually.
:deadtired: I cant wait till Advent Children,And your right qwite right it would suck because they would have to make the FF8 film 3-4 hours long and that would compleatly suck but be good all in one.
And you were paid to say the Final fantasy movie was good when it was the Worst film anyone has ever seen on this Planet. And Im finishing that at That.
i think that there is a good chance that the movie advent children is going to be longer when it comes out on DVD. there is also a game that is another sequel to FFVII, and it is called Dirge of Cerberus.
I've actually seen the trailers for this movie, so it's not just a rumor. The site for the trailer is http://www.square-enix.co.jp/dvd/ff7ac/. I'm really excited about this movie, because I loved The Spirits Within and the trailer looks promising.
Final fantacy 7 advant children look sooooooooo good; then again it was the best FF installment. I think that if they follow the path of the Spirits Within its gonna suck. Square soft should stick with the FF8 story line and not get to creative, cause look at the last flick.
