Reanimator rocks! You must make sure you see the uncut version. Just like Dead Alive, they chop the best gore out to please some people in charge of distribution or the Blockbuster Gore police. I really don't know how the mechanism works in which a great movie gets chopped and toned down to somebody else's acceptable standard then repackaged. Some ratings BS me thinks...

Dead Alive is great unless you see a chopped/altered version then the movie plot doesn't make sense! Same goes for Cemetary man, Reanimator and Bad Taste. All four films have been victims of somebody's evil plot to ruin fun indie gore.

Cut or not, Reanimator still rocks, It makes we want to mainline gatorade :)

Re-animator is awesome. I have the two disc special edition full of special features and in thx. The decapitated doctor carrying around his still talking head is classic. P.s. don't bother with blockbuster. Do what I do, spend assloads of cash on horror movies you haven't seen yet, you get good ones from time to time.

So what is it with Blockbuster? How can they control what the people see? Are they owned by the Catholic Church or some Morman Conglomerate? Does some jerk committee decide what is too obcene for Blockbuster family values? They really have the movie distributer edit the film before Blockbuster will touch it? They actually have that much influence?

Maybe they buy the film to rent out and the rights to alter it and they make their own copies for the public. I dunno...

If I made a killer zombie movie and Blockbuster said they won't put it on the shelves untill I cut out the gore then they won't ever put it on their shelves. Gore fans will get it from somewhere else. I poop on Blockbuster.

I also have that special edition Re-animator, & its fully loaded with specials. I think this was the first movie (that I remember) where I saw a guy's penis & it wasn't a porno (although its not like a close up; you don't see the head at all, DAMN, jk)
I loved the black secruity guard. When he sees all of the dead people he runs away. lol.

I am not sure what the deal is with blockbuster. The last movie I rented their was House of a Thousand Corpses and it was still bloody. I am telling you just buy all your movies. www.half.com is suppose to be cool everything is cheap I am going to check it out later.

There is always a smaller video store that carries these type of movies that Blockbuster doesnt. Check around your town for one.
