The first one was fun, but still nowhere near its full potential. This one looks like it's shaping up to be what the fans want. I especially like how the opening scene is her among all the chaos and flames in the middle of the street, exactly like how the games start out. This one is going to have Jill Valentine in it as well. It's looking to be a much more faithful ride than the first one was.

I'm completely stoked to see this. I was dissapointed with the first movie right until the very end when the guy's arm starts mutating and the lab guys say, Put him in the Nemesis project. Holy crap he was one of the best characters to grace the Resident Evil series.

And the ending was fabulous where you pan out from Milla to see the street completly trashed. Did anyone else buy a Gamecube just to play the re-make of Resident Evil?

The orginal film was crap in my opinion. About as exciting as a wet fart! This looks eqully crap with a slightly bigger budget. Nemesis looks rubbish. Looks like a burn victim on steds! Probably going to be a huge dissapointment again.

In the game the creature is about 8 foot and built like a brick wall! Ha!

This guy looks similar by the face but still doesn't look a touch on the original video game version. I am curious to know whether or not he has poisonous tentacles which come out of his hands? That be cool. But I think there is an image of a licker there as well and again they look to animated like in the original.

Sorry guys but I just dont get a good vibe from the original so its pretty much killed the second one before I've even seen it. But as soon as somebody has seen it I'll be intrested to know what you think?

The Nemesis looks pretty cool. I agree with the first movie being a steaming pile. The game story of Resident Evil 1 was enough to carry over to a screenplay but it was brutally raped. I'm going to see Resident Evil 2, it should be good for some brain cell killing.

I think the first movie was crap, but I enjoyed it for what it was. I was expecting it to be very flashy and post-modern, and that's what it was. Sure, it would be nice to see something dark and genuinely scary, but honestly, that's never what the RE games were like. That's why I'm so looking forward to a Silent Hill movie. A far scarier, and superior game franchise, with lots of potential.

Ok... I dont Know if you've played/watched the games... However

I must admit, at first sight I did believe the trailer to look good... I saw the nemesis, and jill valentine... And thought atleast they are sticking to the games... I couldnt have been far wrong.

I decided to dig into the background of the film... And it appears they have been plucking names out of the games, an example of this is a character by the name of Dr. Charles Ashford... The ashford family first appear in resident evil: code veronica, Where basically alexia adapts the mother virus. Into the T-veronica virus. This fact however is not mentioned.

Also this Charles ashford alegedly Created the T virus... again digging into the games... spencer created the mother virus... which was adapted by marcus... who was assassinated by Albert Wesker and William Berkin, Where Berkin stole marcus' reaserch and created The G-virus... Now by what I have read... Wesker or Berkin are not involved in the film at all... However this would explain the reason why the tyrant or hunter etc. have not been involved in the films. As The creator is non-existant...

Also it appears that the licker is still the main monster... when the licker only appeared in 1 game... that being resident evil 2... Which did take place in racoon city police department, and the sewer labs... which William Berkin controls... So I could understand if the licker was in this 1... but not the first... I guess they needed to introduce it...

But finally... The people of racoon city were infected by rats carrying the T-virus... after William Berkins G-virus research was stolen by umbrellas special forces... And STARS was under the command on Albert Wesker... who sent the STARS team to the mansion to gather combat data so that he could sell out to another organisation... These chain of events are why racoon city fell... And by what I have read... these facts are not mentioned... If they are... It could be a saving grace for the film...

The only detail the movie followed the game for seems to be the nemesis hunting STARS members.

The zombies looked cool but the licker looked like a cartoon character!
The ending was pradictable which is fine because we determine that from playing the games. Or if you haven't played the games its simply common sense that they want to make a string of these movies!

The second film I hope is better I really do as I am a fan of RE games, Nemesis looks drubbish though. His face look ok but his build is all wrong. Again Ive seen pictures of lickers and they look the same as they do in the original movie.

Hey guys, I saw resident evil 2 in theaters yesterday and loved it, this time they kinda stayed true to the game. I highly recomend that anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, to go see it, you won't be disapointed. To tell you the truth, it is better than the first one. Let me know what you guys think. :D

OK, so i went to see RE:Apocalypse tonight, knowing that jill and carlos and the nemesis were involved in the plotline... what happened? they messed up the continuity of the games completely. Jill was a total failure, she's supposed to be the heroine of the whole story, what happened then? Alice took her place! OK so the precursor to the games was that Alice was a member of umbrella making sure the mansion was safe from prying eyes and the events in RE were acceptable. I thought that in this one that they would follow the plot of RE: Nemesis and have Jill trying to get her way out of Raccoon City while being hunted down by the STARS hating Nemesis. but NO! Hollywood script, typical. when will the Americans realise that changing a scipt is not always the best option. There is no back story to why Jill is there and knows what happened. I could write a better script for gods sake. the problem is, if i did it would be rejected in favour of special effects and crowd pleasing stunts. Can we boycott this movie as a pile of excrement as i think that a director, and scriptwriter should have been chosen that have actually played the games and know the back story. If I were an employee of Capcom, I would have banned this film from being released, its about time someone came up with a decent way to script game to movie contracts. People who have played RE games since 1995 will be very disappointed at this trashy, loosely scripted movie. As a gamer i want to see the original plots followed and this should be a note to take in for any future scripting. The people worked hard at Capcom to come up with an original plot that has expanded over many games and an american film company does its usual and thinks they know best. Were the writers of Star Wars novels as loose in thier interpretation? NO! because Lucas wanted continuity not trash. I'd like to see some replies from keen RE fans, not just people who think sfx and action are base to a movie. I thank you all for listening and hope directors will see sense in future of keeping the gaming public happy for if you have not noticed, we are the future of the movie industry. Differential plots do not make a good movie! I am not a fan boy, just a casual gamer that knows the RE genre and the way the story was planned. This is not how it should be and why should we accept another franchise by a corporation that is not directed by the people who make the games or play the games.

As an avid fantatic fan of the video games. I thought the movie was ok. Now how many video game adapted films have you seen that are true to the story line of the video games? I've seen......I dont know. Yet you have a decent poll where you describe Resident Evil as being the sole purpose of an action film.

The Nemesis was pretty slick in the film, and I enjoyed all the campy matrix action that Alice pulled from her ass in the movie.

So to be honest with you all I;m baked right now so I give this movie my rating of 5/10.

Yeh the Tomb Raider movies were ok because they could make up a new plot for them. Angelina Jolie does make things go boing in the night, The first Mortal Kombat film was alright too I suppose, Mario Bros was a pile of canine excrement. Centipede the movie??? what an idea... starring Colin Farrels penis as the main role! One for the ladies then. But any other game movie's plots could be altered cos they aint set in a timeline... Resi Evil is and thats my point. Dont use charcters in a totally different plot that should never be there in the first place. Spyhunter looks pretty cool though, so far the Rock's films have been class old skool action. He's supposed to be set up to do the next Predator movie too! :twisted:

The reason Metallica won't work is because they have the copyright so high on their music you would be a cool mill in the whole if you used two of their songs. I mean Dark, this story takes place in hell remember. Slayer might work, Cradle of Filth, Danzig, you might be able to work Manson in but who ever comes up with the soundtrack better be careful, his new stuff is soft. P.S. Metallica is soft as well as expensive. You would need to use old stuff of theirs. Even then they aren't all that dark.

Metallica's old stuff probably would suit the movie but then again, your looking at a Hollywood reference to a futuristic video game, depending who is working on it, I foresee a techno/metal soundtrack. Probably industrial hardcore. Remember Mortal Kombat, totally ludicrous techno soundtrack, I'm sur influences were 2 Unlimited (chortlin to myself)

I think you are probably right Malky it will probably be some shity techno. Also, the metal we have all named would suit the movie better than anything hollywood would choose. None of our stuff is comercial enough.

First things first, this film was not, I repeat not, directed by Anderson. He directed the original but bowed of the sequal to do AVP. I'm glad he did because AVP is more his style that RE, but what the hell. The first film wasn't exactly true to the games, I never wanted it to follow the games story but a prequel that followed similar events to those found in the notes. I didn't get it, but I accepted the first films story as being in a different universe to that of the games and enjoyed it as a fun crap experience that fit the action b movie cheese of the games.

What the hell were they thinking with this sequel. Jill Valentine has zombie killing experience, but how? Those that haven't played the games will be clueless, and those that are can give up any claims that the games didn't happen in the films universe and start bitching about the events. As for Jill, what were they thinking. Maybe if it was Resident Evil Undressed, starring Shannon Tweed as the horney police captain who makes out with Jill in her office, but not in a serious movie. Her get up that she put on when sjhe realized that zombies were here had no armour, and would be useful only for either clubbing or making teenage boys drool over your heroinne.

The acying on Carlos and the rest of the squad was just, wha???

Plot holes like never before. OK so Alice picked up a shot gun from a police car, but where in the hell did those uzis come from?

and by the time Alice gets into a fist fight with Nemesis I gave u any belief that the studio was being serious and figured they were making fun of their own target audience.

Good things; the scene in the church was vintage Resident Evil. That will be all.

I gotta admit that when I saw the 1st movie I got shocked!
THEY RUINED IT!

and now they're trying to fix it up... by mixing RE2 and 3 together....

and wasn't Charles Ashford supposed to be William Birkin?? And Angela... Sheri?
I really don't care about their names... I care about the actors... and I can say that Charles Ashford is Hot as Hell!

However... there are some mistakes in the actors section... wasn't Nicholai supposed to be much older than the actor who played him??

oh yeah....

I guess they would do better if they played the games before doing any other RE's!
