Well, I just responded to the thread about the last horror movies that I saw that were scary, and I thought, "Why not make one dedicated to all of the unscary, cheesy horror movies out there?" So here it is, if you have ever seen a movie that was absolutely laughable due to bad special effects, bad acting, bad scripts or whatever, then feel free to share! My list (or at least the ones I can remember off hand) is:
-Slugs
-Mosquito
-Creepshow 1&2
-The Blob
-IT
-Demons
-Dolls
-Child's Play 3 & Bride of Chucky
-The Unborn
Well, there are more, but I can't think of them. I shall add them after my next trip to the video store! And I just wanted to add that just because these movies are in this list doesn't mean I didn't like them... I find quite a few of them very entertaining, although not for the reasons for which they were made... They're so terrible that they're funny, and they're so funny that they've grown on me!

Wes Craven's They. Not necessarily funny, but it was so bad it was insulting. Definitely the worst movie of 2003.

The original King Kong. Maybe it was a classic, but damn, you can't help but laugh at it's cheesiness.

House of the Dead
I couldn't agree with you more. The acting was so terrible that it was hilarious. Especially the cop. The best thing about that movie was when the girl takes her top off at the beginning.

No...Sam Raimi has enough of a sense of humor that he knew what he was making.

My vote goes to most of the stuff issued by Full Moon Entertainment in the early nineties. The Puppet Master and Dollman series were horrid. Nevermind Freddy vs Jason or Alien vs Predator. Dollman vs Demonic Toys was the best in cheese.

I wholeheartedly agree... I wanted to shoot myself for actually paying the $5 to see it on pay per view... It never ceases to anger me. DAMN YOU WES CRAVEN AND SHAW CABLE FOR STEALING MY MONEY! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!

Haha...ok, I might give you that. But, you can pretty much figure that's why EVIL DEAD II is the same, just ramped up on the comedy sector.

Scream, not in a hahaha way but if you pay attention its REALLY ironic, Example: Whats her name is talking about how the people in horror movies always run up stairs where they are trapepd and how stupid that is, what does she do when Scream comes after her.... RUNS UP THE STAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Scream
Scream was actually a slight parody of other horror films. Although it wasn't really noticed. So, Scary Movie basically parodied a parody.
Evil Dead was intentionally funny. If you didn't notice that, then you should see the movie again.

Yes, Scream was meant to be funny as it pointed out all the horror movie cliches, whereas Scary Movie is just a silly comedy. I think Scream is probably better, anyways.

But Scary Movie has Officer Doofy. lol. Plus, they also make fun of Usual Suspects at the end.

I wouldnt call it a parody but I think it more criticizeed how characters acted in horror movies

Well thats pretty much what a parody is. He was using all the cliche horror movie scenes, but since it wasn't an in-your-face parody, it was hard to realize.

Oh yeah, I forgot Devil's Pond... That movie was terrible. Tara Reid really can't act at all. She quite deserved Ed the Sock's Anna Kournikova award during Fromage 2003, and she's much like Orlando Bloom, in that she thinks her good looks and her one facial expression will take her far in the movie industry. God, let's hope not... Or at least let's hope she sticks with her standard teen sex romps, where it's more obvious that the only point of her existence is to be a visual prostitute.
That Kid
08-15-2004, 09:59 PM
Orlando Bloom doesn't think that.... the bitchy fangirls do.

08-15-2004, 10:13 PM
Well maybe he does and maybe he doesn't... but he DEFINITELY only has one facial expression... you know, that pouty "I'm so damn sexy" look?

I know exactly what you're talking about
Just Joking, I know waht you're talking about, but cmon, he is so damn sexy!
Now back on topic:
The Exorcist was hilarious. I don't think it was supposed to be though.
Resident Evil. When the girl jumps up the wall & kicks the dog. lol, how did she have the instinct to do that?

Dead-End Drive Inn - went to see this one years ago when a radio station was giving out free tickets - knew this Aussie film was in trouble when the hero said his nickname was 'Crabs' . . . .
Split Second - the Rutger Hauer flick was so bad that the production company used lines from the flick as 'reviews' in the ads . . . only good thing was a early nude scene with Kim Cattrall. . .

My favorite quote from the movie is, "She's a real carpenter's dream: flat as a board and needs a screw!"

That's called a satire. A parody IS in-your-face, like Naked Gun and Austin Powers.

I am actually a fan of cheesy horror movies. Especially the old ones. I truly believe Ed Wood to be a genius if that gives you an idea. One of my favorites is Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter the dialogue and the action sequences are so cheesy you can't help but enjoy them and Kronos is the man. Good laugh great movie.

Brought it home watched it and have to tell you it is one sh**y horror movie but it is one good comedy. lol. Anyone seen this movie? If you have then why the hell did he set up those booby traps? lol wtf.

about the whole wes craven's They. Yes it was terrible. But it didn't have anything to really do with wes craven. They just used his name to sell it. Quite sad really. I'm sure his leg is tired of kicking himself by now....

Last House is more of an expoitation movie than a horror.
Silent Night Deadly Night is probably the funniest horror movie in an unintentional way that ever was, I mean c'mon Santa Claus running around killing people, every time he said "naughty" I cracked the fuck up.

Child's Play 3 was a great film first off because it's part of the story, Bride of chucky was'nt good at all the story was good because it talking about the reals story, the stuff in between it was horrible and for some reason they turned it into a comedy it never was a comedy!

Creepshow. My mom saw the movie when it first came out back in the day, and she was absolutely terrified of the white monkey. One day I watched it and I couldn't believe the frigging thing it was so terrible. It looked like a huge stuffed animal that was made up to try to look scary. So later I went over to her house and laughed at her.

I couldnt stop laughing at this line as well -

The worst I have seen is Cabin Fever but I got the impression that was intentionally funny.
More recently, the movie Saw had me rolling.
