Salem's Lot: new and old versions

Salem's Lot is a great book, and I don't think the first movie did it justice. I just finished watching the first part of the new TNT version of Salem's Lot, and while it appears to be better than the original film, I am a bit annoyed that they changed around some of the character scenarios.

What did you think of the original "Salem's Lot"?

I beleave it or not have not seen the original but I want to, but the new one realy looks good I must.

I have seen the original but not the new one, and I've read most of the book. However, I haven't seen the movie in over ten years, as I haven't been able to find it anywhere! I thought it was really good, but I was quite young, so I'm probably not the best one to pass judgment :roll:
