Anyone remember this movie?

Sooo disturbing, really abstract, like some drug hallucination, weird ending.
Every time I see it I figure it out at the end but forget my theory the next time I see it.
It is an older movie [ 10 yrs? ] but you may have seen it on TV.
It relates to a Vietnam Vet & Agent Orange.
Exellent, but hard to follow, You wonder what the hell is going on.
Someone out there has got to remember it!!

Did you get the ending the fist time, or have to view it again?
Yeah, this one is memorable!

I've only seen it once, but I'm pretty sure I got it. It's been a while since I watched it, though, so don't try to get me into a discussion, because I'm too rusty on the film.

Yeah, me too.
I would have to watch it again to refresh the memory. I will and get back to you!
I think I remember thinking that he already was dead.
Just trying to bring up some old stuff.

There are just so many movies to talk about. Not too many new ones really.
Any old ones that stand out to you?
Hey , one guess where I am in Canada. I think we have alot in common. Weather at least!

That would be nice!
No, Winnipeg. I thought you would guess it for sure. Beautiful, sunny & 80 degrees today!!
Do you get Showcase and or Bravo cable channels there?
That's where I see most of the HBO shows. We don't get HBO on our cable package. You have to have a satellite. This really bugs me because there are so many shows I would like to see!

I didn't say it was a bad movie, I just find it depressing. The whole story is sad...

This is a good film but yeah, you actually find yourself wanting to put him out of his misery. I think I got the end. I think? Is the whole thing a big trip and he's still in Vietnam?

Something like that anyway, its been a real long time since I saw it. Wouldn't say it was a horror flick though, but sstill a decent film. :D

He's dead, jackass.

Ha I know he's dying but he's dying in vietnam, you see him get stretched off. The idea was something like they used an experimental drug on a bunch of marines that made them flip out - result they kill each other. While he's slowly dieing in name he has a huge trip (the film) and then concludes at the end were he is dying in nam.

But if I've completley remembered the film wrong - I am a jackass!

i thought the whole storyline about government experimentation and hallucinogenic drugs was completely unnecessary, and in a lot of ways ruined the film.

in my opinion, if it had been a film about a man coming to grips with his own death, it would have been good.
if it had been a film about a government conspiracy involving psychoactive drugs used as "performance enhancers" among soldiers in vietnam, it would have been good.

but it was neither while trying to be both, and as such it was completely weak.

Elizabeth Pena (as the girlfriend) was good in the movie.

The "Bacon" monsters were good, too.

I just saw this movie for the first time like a week ago. It is intense. Tim Robbins is good in everything, and the demons are frightning which is nice, I really liked it.

I haven't seen this movie in close to 10 years, so I don't remember much of anything. However all this talk has made me think I should definitely look for it the next time I have some time and money to spare!
