It seems no one has visited Horror Hotel for a while.
COME BACK DEMON SPAWN!!
This is an interesting forum. Lots of great info.
And yes, there are females on these forums! { Someone on another forum had thought there may not be.}
Not all women are fans of romantic comedies or sentimental garbage.
Just so you know.

YES!!! Let's get this horror party started!
Whats' the last good horror you saw? I loved CABIN FEVER. Eli Roth kicked some butt there....campy, cheesy, and very B!

I think 28 Days later was probably the best lately. I also liked Long Time Dead. The effects were interesting in this one. I like monsters better when they are left to your imagination , makes it way more scary.
OK, maybe I should have finished watching Cabin Fever. I didn't know that it was meant to be campy until I read a review of the DVD last wkd. I usually go for that stuff. Maybe I'll try watching it again from that POV.

I AM HEEEEEEEEEERE!!!!!!!!
THe last movie I watched that was a HORROR FILM was GHOST SHIP :o I made it as far as the first ten minutes, it reminded me of what the un-cut footage of TITANIC would have been. I was bored and I turned it off.
So instead I watched From Dusk Till Dawn. By far one of the more grotesque movies in my collection. It's the extended feature which has the uncut scene of a vampire with a mouth in her stomach and she bites off a bikers head.
The movie is downright campy and full of corn from my ass but I loved it none the less. I am dissapointed that sequels were made for this movie.

What the hell happened anyway?
Last post was about "May", gory, sick & great & "The Hole". Has anyone seen these??
I totally recommend "May". Real sick, but so campy and original!
Glad to be back!

Hey BlairWitch. Not too long ago I watched one of the funniest, campiest, down right shittiest horror movie that made absolutley no sence and I loved every second of it.

Down right hysterical, with some decent killing scenes. No thorough blood splatter like I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE or SHOWGIRLS. but downright comedy.
I'll check out May and The Hole. Are those mid-early 80's horror films?

I'd thought I've seen alot of old horrors but I've never come across this one. I'll to go to a video store with a wider selection. Definately sounds interesting!!
"May" was out only a couple of months ago, still in the new releases here. The actress is the one from the TV version of "Carrie" that was out last year. I saw "The Hole" last year, shouldn't be too hard to find.
I don't know about you but I've seen so many they rarely scare me anymore. Now I look for anything downright weird or creative. I'm always looking for the one that will scare me like a kid. Great movies are out there but I'm waiting for the ONE!! We try to see every horror that comes out. They are always our first movie choice.

Hey,
I think I should say that the "Ring" DID scare me [I have to admit, and "Blair Witch", of course creeped me out alot]. It kind of bugged me when some people thought it wasn't scary, and funny. I guess we all have our own opinions! Anyway, There are a few. There should be more!

BlairWitch 2 was a good movie. I haven't seen BlairWitch, just because, I have no reason why? Again like the majority of thrillers I have seen, I found it hilarious.

Hi again!
I absolutely loved Blair Witch [ OF COURSE ], but I haven't seen the second. You see, I watch movies with my husband and we have to agree. I usually win though! We heard that it was no good so it just hasn't got rented. Is it all all serious like the other one? Well I guess you would have to see it first to know, duh!
Anyway, I do like gore, but a movie has to have something to keep my attention. I am a very restless person and a Gemini!
What do you think, is it worth the rental cost? if so hey, I'll rent it for a laugh!

What exactly is scary about Blair Witch? I found it hilarious, when I wasn't bored to tears.

If I was lost in the woods with naught but a video camera and cigarettes and there was a legendary killer loose, call me crazy, but I'd be scared shitless.

Of course, if it were happening to YOU. But last time I checked, Blair Bitch is just a movie. And a bad one at that.

Going back to Spookies, another hilarious horror movie spoof is Student Bodies. I recommend watching it with friends so you can laugh at all the stupid jokes. Watching it by yourself can make it a little boring.
Ok, I totally forgot about this movie until recently and to me it is really scary, Candyman. Err...Yeah..way freaky.
Oh, and Josh, if I were in the woods with just a video camera and some ciggies. I'd hope to God that I would turn into McGyver and use the ciggies to turn that video camera into a cell phone, so I could call the police to get my ass out of there. And I'd be scared shitless.

Is Spookies to blame?

If Spookies is to blame for me coming back to my old forum stomping ground and finding all my old movie talk buddies like Carl, ClarkParker and Sarah H gone, then I will DESTROY IT! On a lighter note, nice location MetalMan. Shaun of the Dead was on of my fav films of this whole entire year. So much shit came out, but I'm glad this gem made it across the big pond and into the states. I looooved that movie so much. Touched on everything and it all worked. Brilliance.

Many thanks - I liked Shaun more than I thought I would - It was a great film!
Many great quotes, etc., etc.

Only one bummer about the american DVD version - NO Zombie Commentary!

I KNOW! Maybe if we wait patiently we'll get the loaded 2- disc UK version at some point here in the states. But for now, the extras we have will suffice. I have a feeling it will be one of those flicks that does better on word of mouth DVD than it did in the theater. Let's all cross our fingers, more people need to see this movie.

Definitely do that. It's simply put one of the best horror movies I've seen so far. It has everything. Romance, drama, comedy, violence. Any movie with a scene where a character's stomach gets viciously torn into and his entrails get eaten with no cut aways is automatically in my top 10 of all time.
