Why is the clown always a sign of doom? Because of a movie I saw when I was a little girl, I have a phobia of clowns. No, it wasn't the movie "It", or "Poltergeist". I don't know the name, and have never seen it since, but one scene stays in my mind. It was so horrific when I saw it, that when I had my son, I told everyone he was not allowed to receive any clown gifts. At four he realized my phobia in a toy store, and chased me down the aisles with a clown doll. Can you imagine a grown women screeching for a four year old to stop terrorizing her. I can't even go to Knott's Scary Farm, because I once ended up in the Clown Maze by accident, and had to use the emergency exit due to an anxiety attack.
So, here is what the scene in the movie was as I remember it: a twelve year old hiding in a dark house from a man size crazed clown. He had the large shoes, wild colored outfit, frizzy bright hair, and made up face. The camera was set at an angle the boy was viewing the room from. The clown spotted him, and walked up to him (the feet were huge compared to the head of the clown due to the angle of the boy hiding under a table and looking up). The clown snatched him up and smiled with a grill in need of a dentist visit. Anyone have any idea what this movie is called?
