Has anyone seen wrong turn? It's the one with Eliza Dukshu and the guy off 6 feet under. It just came out to the $1 movies here and I was wondering if it was worth it.

Yeah, definitely see it. Only because seeing it for $1 at a Movie Theater is cheaper than renting it. I saw it, and I think it was scary.

I admit, I was originally expecting crap from this...but after reading Carl's review, I think it actually might be worth checking out.

Yeah. It bothered me, after I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I still like wrong turn though. Check it out, just in case.
Where the heck has my red X gone now?
Yea, I liked it. It is similar to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
:? Well that sucks. Now is this the old, "it wasn't as good as the original, so it sucks" syndrome? I heard Texas Chainsaw Massacre was very tense, full of adrenaline and everything a horror should be. I heard it had the exact same style as Wrong Turn, but without the crappy opening and Rambo finale. Haven't seen it yet though.

Well...I must admit, I haven't seen TCM yet...but so far, every intelligent movie fan I've talked to has hated the movie, so I don't have much hope for it.

Of course a lot of movie fans hated it. It's a remake of a classic, they were always going to hate it. I myself have heard a lot of the critics I respect the most loved it as a horror movie that wasn't a masterpiece, wheras others hated it for being a remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Personally I think it'll be an extremely good horror movie, that will just be too gorey for it's own good.

It's a remake of every single remake of every single identical survival slasher flick out there since the mid 80's.

WRONG TURN has to be one of the worst films ever made.
WRONG TURN has to be one of the worst films ever made.Sure not the greatest, but not even close to being the worst. Opening and closing acts I can agree with, but no way that middle section was not even close. The quick cutting, excellent effects and sheer sense of unrelenting horror mean that it will never even come close to being as bad as such drivel as Xtro, I still know what you did last summer, Friday The XIII ect...
and it was defenitely far better than that drivel Deliverence. :ninja:

The movie Wrong Turn was a decent thriller, only because of the actors. The storyline was so predictable, but I couldn't get enough of the lead male actor (who also played in GhostShip - don't know his name), and the lead actress (Eliza Dushka).
I also found a fondness in my heart for the skinny mutant who laughed a high pitch hyena giggle. I scared everyone watching the movie with me, when I mimmicked his laugh!!!
If ever I take a wrong turn, please let me be stranded with Jeremy Sisto, and the lead actor (who also played in GhostShip - don't know his name), so I can have two goodlooking men to cling to :hint:

TWO WORDS:
SEE "DELIVERANCE"!!I have, it sucks, hard!!! Oooh, kid playing a guitar, now that's intense. Wrong Turn and Deliverence are 2 films with nothing in common beyond the setting, why people insist on comparing them is beyond me.

Hey Brian, everyone has their opinions, so here is one from me, again. I'll admit Wrong Turn is a cheesey movie, that's why I feel it falls into the 'b' movie section. However, the worst movie in horror that I have recently seen would have to be Freddy vs. Jason. That was bad. I would see Wrong Turn again if I had to choose between these two movies.

I have yet to see Freddy VS Jason, But I have a feeling I might agree.
We didn't mind Wrong Turn, because there are people like that who exist.
I stand by Deliverance.
I'm sure I will have a few supporters on this out there.
Hey, did you hear that Quenton Tarrantino actually met the little banjo boy as an adult and has cast him in one of his up and coming movies?? The guy was hesitant because he had a bad experince doing Deliverance. He said that Burt Reynolds was mean to him!

I thought Wrong Turn was rather enjoyable, and the best part was Emmanuelle Chriqui...can't wait to see her and Tara Reid in The Crow: Wicked Prayer (IF they EVER release the bloody thing).
Freddy vs Jason was GREAT!!! It was an absolute riot. I couldn't stop laughing. And the "Bed bending Backwards" kill was simply the coolest kill since Good Ol' Jason shoved that girls' face in the liquid nitrogen and then smashed it to smithereenies in Jason X. People by know should realize that the "Friday the 13th" movies are more about schtick and comedy, then they are about actual "horror". and you add Freddy's wise cracking dialogue, and you have a very entertaining movie, if you take them for what they're worth, and supposed to be.
I'd love for Jason and Michael Myers to team up, wreak havoc on the people who are dumb enough to still live in Haddonfield, (on Halloween no less), strut up and down the streets saying, "We bad...we bad" then 2 weeks later on Fri. Nov 13th (in the appropriate year of course) go to Camp Crystal Lake, and slice and dice a group of horny teens who figured no one would be at the camp this late in the year. Now that would be an awesome movie.

Sound like a great concept!
I love Freddie's humor too, but am not much of a Friday.. fan. I am hesitant on Freddie VS Jason, but probably will see it anyway. Seen all the Freddie movies, even the 3D that no one would go with me too so I went alone. It was pretty good! Still have the glasses somewhere!
Halloween is one of my all time favorites, but didn't much like some of the sequels. The first left such a mystery, that I almost wish they had stopped there and bugged us forever!

Yeah, the original Halloween was/is a classic. Some of the sequels weren't too bad, but I think they should have made one that tied the Jamie story line in. I like the producer's cut DVD of Halloween 6, and thought Halloween H20 wasn't bad. The best part of Halloween Resurrection I thought, was in the Bonus Features disc, under deleted scenes. There's a scene of Michael pulling up to his old dilapidated house in what's obviously a stolen car...he gets out, it's very dark and gloomy, the Halloween theme music is playing, he's standing in front of the broken down gate, then all of a sudden you hear the distinctive. "chirp chirp" as he sets the car alarm. I have never laughed so freakin hard. Here's this mass murderer, afraid of nothing, and he's worried that someone may steal his STOLEN car. I'm sure they deleted it from the movie because the audience members who may have seen it in a screening, were laughing too hard.
I think they should have Michael drive an Ice Cream truck and when all the little kiddies come out with their money all excited, turn on the Halloween theme music and watch them all run. Muhahahahaha.

When I saw this film in the theatres I felt I had taken a wrong turn into the wrong theatre. It was like a documentary on people in w. va. Ive been there. Plenty of times i was chased by mongoloids. This had to be the worst movie ever made...... oh wait..... Daredevil. I swear Daredevil makes Wrong Turn look like the Godfather.

I ordered Wrong Turn on pay per view and immediately tried to think up ways I could get my money back... it was absolutely awful! If I had purchased this movie, I would've destroyed it, and any other copies of it that crossed my path, simply to rid the world of its horribleness! It was definitely the worst movie I've ever seen, and I'm known for being able to find the best in almost any movie... there was nothing worthwhile in this movie at all... the characters were flat and the hillbilly redneck cannibals were just stupid... "horror" movies like this with illogical and unscary antagonists should be destroyed, as should the people who make them. This wasn't just some stupid campy horror movie that was so obviously terrible that it was funny; there wasn't even any humour to be derived from it! It was just bad, and there's no other way to put it!

Wrong Turn was absolutely terrible. I mean, can people not come up with a villain more terrifying than inbred hillbillies? Seriously!!! "OOOOOOH RUN, THE CREEPY INCESTUOUS UGLY PEOPLE ARE CHASING US WITH TORCHES!!! MAYBE WE SHOULD HIDE IN THE FLAMMABLE RADIO TOWER THING AND HOPE THEY'LL GO AWAY!!!" And the acting was terrible! You guys can take your pretty actors and have fun with them, but I'll take decent, or even mediocre, acting over this pile of steaming feces any day!

Could anyone recommend a similar movie along the same lines?

The hills have eyes (original and remake)
Wrong Turn is decent movie imo.. The concept isn't original, the story is nothing special, but it pretty much does what its suppose to do.. Its pretty tense at some moments.. (but ofcourse when you are watching a movie without any kind of interest, no movie ever gets tense)
Good enough for a one-time rental, and after that first time, never see it again.
