the thundercats movie has been and to my knowledge still is a rumor. IMDB has an empty page and says its slated for 2010, so the question is irrelevant anyways since alvin comes out this year. If WB pulled out of the Dragonball Z trilogy, i sincerly doubt they will give a big budget to bringing a far less popular cartoon to the big screen.

Thundercats Helmer Hired

Warner Brothers has hired video-game art director Jerry O'Flaherty to helm the upcoming computer-animated Thundercats movie, based on the popular '80s cartoon series, comic book and toy line, Variety reported.

It marks the feature-film-directing debut for O'Flaherty, who served as an art director on such best-selling games as Gears of War and for Epic Games and the Command and Conquer series from Westwood Studios.

O'Flaherty had been looking to make the leap into movies and was considering several projects, even live action.

O'Flaherty will work with writer Paul Sopocy on the script.

The franchise revolves around a group of humanoid cats who must flee the planet of Thundera, which is destroyed. After crash-landing on another planet, Third Earth, they must thwart Mumm-Ra, an evil sorcerer bent on killing them off.

Oh pleeze, another 80s animated coming to the big screen. Hollywood is running out of ideas. What's next....The Littles, Where's Waldo?, The Smurfs.

Marvel is also running out of action heroes too...

Get real!

Marvel has action heroes that will go on forever, but looking forward to a Thundercats Movie, could be really good

cant agree more

btw

i got this story line from a site

"The inhabitants of the planet Thundera evacuate just before it is destroyed. They were pursued by a band of mutants. All but one of their escape ships was destroyed. Only a small group of Thunderans (Thundercats) remained. With only half engine power, the group, which was led by Jaga, had to set a course for the nearest planet. Jaga commanded their ship while the other 7 were in their stasis tubes. Jaga died on their journey to Third Earth and their ship crashed there. Soon they made friends with various groups in the area and they designed a fortress. Mumm-Ra the centuries-old embodiment of evil, along with the mutants that destroyed the rest of the Thunderans are a constant threat. But Lion-O, the new leader of the Thundercats, with his weapon the "Sword of Omens" will help the Thundercats to have a standing chance."
