Ok this was my favorite movie when i was a child in the 80s. it starts off like a normal movie with a boy who gets sucked into a board game. and then im not sure if it turns to cg, animation, or a cartoon. but the boy has to beat the game to get out..i remember dodo birds and him driving a little car!

no, its from the 80s, and when the kid goes into the board game, it turns into a cartoonish movie, might just be a childrens' video and never in the movies

I was wondering about that one too, but it didn't quite seem to fit. There's no board game involved and I don't remember dodo birds. It's also from the very early 70's and looks its age. However, it does change from live-action to animation and the boy does drive a little car.

Were you even reading the rest of the thread? It's not Jumanji, it's from the 80's, and it's a cartoon.

I know exactly what you're talking about!! After the little boy gets sucked into the game, I'm pretty sure it's clay animation or something very similiar. I remember little clay looking characters sliding around and I can remember seeing the game board. I wish I could remember the name, it has completely slipped my mind. That's gonna drive me crazy! Hopefully one of us figures it out sooner or later.

I asked my mother about it, she remembers the movie, but not the name. She said she's pretty sure it was a christian movie, hasn't really helped me yet.

I think that i am looking to find the exact same movie... when the boy first gets sucked into the game. there is what looks like a broken-down weather vein and three little mushroom-like creatures sitting nearby and tell him to spin the dial to start the game. it's a live-action to claymation movie. i can't find the title.

I have been looking for this same movie. I have been trying and trying. I know that it turn from live action to claymation when the kid begins to play the game and gest sucked in. It's not Jumanji, The Magic Phonebooth or any of those. I could have sworn that it had Game in the title. Please let me know when you figure it out. I'll do the same.

Funny, I've spent a good deal of my life trying to remember a movie somewhat similar to what this original post is, but i don't think it's the same one. When i used to describe it, people would suggest tron, but that wasn't it, however i think it was sorta technicolor like that. Anyway, just wanted to say, I hope that ALL of us can figure out whatever movies it is we're wondering about. ha.
At first i was thinking you were talking about Spy kids 3-D, but it wasn't eighties, and no bird, and no animation of any sort. Anyway, don't listen to me, i'll just send everyone onto the wrong track.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been looking for the name of that movie for years. Endless searches on the internet have not worked. Neither has talking to my siblings who have no idea what I'm talking about. So anyway, thanks!

Hey everyone,
I have had a lot of people asking me about the movie Hoomania. I had recently found my familys old copy "VHS" at my parents house and I let my son watch it and he LOVES it as did I when I was a kid. I decided to transfer the movie to DVD since it is no longer in production and I know the "VHS" tape wont last much longer. Now I have a copy of Hoomania on DVD, and I am also uploading the movie to the web where it can be watched by everyone for free! I should have the site done by this weekend (9/27/08) The site is www.hoomania.net (http://www.hoomania.net)
Tell everyone and enjoy!

Thanks so much for posting this. I spent a good 15 years of my life trying to figure out the name of the video I watched in church when I was 5 years old.
