The idea sounds alright, but i think theres no real way to go in the dead movies, How about a movie of Short stories like the old tales from the crypt, where several survivors are held up in a police station, and telling how they all made it there and what happened around them when the dead started to walk...I just dont see the dead evolving into something else, sound like they are heading into sci-fi and away from the nightmare of the first movie that still keeps me up at night..sometimes...So wadda U Think?

I think the short stories would be a great change for movies in genral. There arn't any really short stories, there are multiple plot lines, but not a bunch of stories that arn't related at all. If you wanted it make it a bit more conventional, you could have some object that loosley links the stories, like a bat used to bash the dead or what ever, something thats not important to the stories at all.

I've always enjoyed movies like Tales from the Darkside, Twilight Zone and Four Rooms. The use of different directors for each segemtn in a movie surrounding a common theme could have wonderful applications to a zombie flick. Or perhaps just a Pulp Fiction-esque compostion detailing the day the dead walked the earth. I guess I just want some more good zombie movies since the Resident Evil series was turned into a steaming dogpile.

"Land of the Dead grandly expands George Romero's zombie universe into an entire cityscape. Protected behind a massive barricade are the human survivors, including Simon Baker of TV's The Guardian and Asia Argento of XXX, who are rapidly depleting while the ever-evolving zombies now number thousands (digital zombies will fill in the blanks) and are learning to use weapons.

The budget is one of Romero's biggest at about $17 million, which is puny for anyone else, although financial concerns nixed the tradition of filming the zombie action in Pittsburgh."

But the trademarks that make Romero's monsters a superior breed remain:

They move slowly. Always. Never mind those MTV-era turbo creatures in 28 Days Later or the Dawn of the Dead remake.

They are fed up. Romero's cannibalistic zombies may not hurry, but they are relentless and increasingly aggressive, unlike those subservient voodoo-controlled sleepwalkers of early cinematic lore.

They can be stopped. Remember, there is only one way to halt them. As they say in Night of the Living Dead, "Kill the brain, and you kill the ghoul." A bullet in the head is most effective."

I for one can't wait. All of his movies are great and I know this won't fail to disappoint.

If one good thing could be said about the DOTD remake - is that it helped get LOTD greenlighted!!!!

The remake also gained a new, younger audience that will also help Land of the Dead be even bigger.

I voted Night of the Living Dead.

I think this film'll be just as good as the second two Dead films: guilty pleasures.

According to Simon Pegg's (writer of Shaun of the Dead) profile on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0670408/ , he has a zombie cameo in Land of the Dead.

It will be cool to see him as a zombie. I guess this also means that George liked the Shaun of the Dead.

Yeah - Supposedly Romero saw (and liked) SotD and had Simon and Nick Frost do cameos as zombies. . .

So I love Romero's Zombie flicks. I grew up on them and other classic horror. Now I have been reading info on his part 4 of the series and I have hit a wall. I just can't get any new real info. Fan site, web site, Googled and dogpiled and I just can't get anything new. Movie sounds good so far but just wondering if others have veiws as it will be a couple of months till it rolls into theatres (Oct 21'st 05.) Just a wonderin.

Some official things were saying classic but it has also been pointed out that their is an Intelligent Zombie "king" if you will. It has been explained that most of the zombies in the movie are stage III or a new stage IV zombie (useing the Dawn Remake scale.) A teaser clip was on a site that showed a Land Zombie about to do something and Just as it began to make a move the clip stops. Can't remember where but it was cool.

finnaly, FINNALY the poster arrived at my store. This has been hands down -the- most requested poster of the last few months (other then episode 3). This is a hard poster to find, online poster shops are either pricing it way to high, or have just overlooked this movie assuming no one is interested.

moviegoods is selling it for 50$ 8O
movieposter.com has it for 25$

Zombies look quite good..a bit like those of Shaun....

The trailer doesn't expose the situation

It said "now they think and commuinicate" - WTF ?? I'm ok for some evolution about zombies....but say that they think and communicate...NO WAY!
