I don't know what type of horror films that y'all are into. For me, I normally despise the horror genre, but I recently saw the first film that has ever succeeded in seriously scaring me. John Carpenter's "The Thing." (John Carpenter's only film ever to really scare people other than "Halloween") I have become an immediate fan and I wanted to see if anyone else here is a fellow cult follower of this movie. These are the very few horror films I enjoyed...
The Thing (1982)
Frailty (2002)
The Evil Dead Trilogy (Even if it is more of a comedy)
Aliens (1986) (Yes, it is more of a sci-fi/action but it's counted under horror as well)
Alien (1979)
Dr. Feinstone

Alien is not an underrated classic at all. Lots of people think its a classic.
All 3 Evil Deads were fantastic. Bloody and hilarious.
I'm not a fan of Alien, it bored me. But I do have Aliens, I just need to watch it.

I wouldn't really classify it as a "horror" persay, but often overlooked, is Tod Browning's 1932 movie "Freaks" I'm sure most of you movie buffs know that this is an infamous film, but for others who might not know whats going on here's a lil background info......
Basically, it tells of a love story that occurs in a side show of a circus. This love story is between a midget, and a very attractive trapezee artist. This midget is very wealthy, cause being side show really rakes in the dough?, and the question that exists is, Is she using him for his love or money? What makes this movie very creepy is the fact that Tod Browning used REAL freaks. All the freaks in the movie are, or were, real people. It was patronized by holloywood for many years after. Many felt he was using them for his own gain and blah blah blah blah.....But besides that drama, its def. worth seeing. Amazing and the moment you see it you'll love it.

Sorry but F Ibos on this one. You araogant Frenchlivin bass tard just shut up and play with your dolls. Jeesh (flame come back ensues in 3,2, ...) If you had to ask for classics then you need
I spit on your grave.
Any of the dead series (all)
Hellraisers
and of course (even if you disagree) the 13th and Halloween series' as they tried to set a stone for the rest.
It's like how "Reform School Girls" set the bar for soft porn aka women in prison movies. Even if they were main stream they titlted the publicto embrace alot of other titiles. This is of course before the March, etc. So then again lets go bithches lets go!

I thought it was pretty awful. You might want to look into Eric Stanze's "Scrapbook", which is similer but even more fucked up. A lot more fucked up actually.
I like stuff by Dario Argento, David Cronenberg, 70's/early 80's exploitation flicks, Asian Horror......about 45% of these movies suck but I've found a few gems. The Thing is one of my fave 80's movie's.

Dario Argento's "Tenebre" and "Profondo Rosso aka Deep Red" are two of the greatest underated horror films ever.
Also Michele Soavi's "Dellamorte Dellamore aka Cemetery Man" and "Stagefright" are two other highly underrated and unknown horror films that are superb.
