I've always wondered why in the hell does Halloween 3 have absolutely nothing to do with any of the other movies? Can somebody explain this to me?

The halloween 1 was nicely done...a bit whacky but well filmed and there was suspense at what a new serial killer could do. But for the third opus, I gues the producers wanted to give some life back to the charactor of Myers...they surely had the idea of several follow-ups and needed something of a change. And methinks that was how they thought of it...by changing complete subject from the second to third.

Some other say that it has been a different point of view conflict which made the movie producers change the line of sight of the series...either it was with a different director or with internal pressure, who knows......it's all myth now

Caprenter toyed with the idea of branching off from the Michael Myers storyline - while keeping the new stories centered around the Halloween holiday.
The result was Season of the Witch.

The rest of the original producers, led by Mustoffa Akkad, are the ones responsible for having the Halloween III title put on it. . .

The fans expecting more of the Shape were turned off by the Stonehenge laced masks and robots storyline and the film bombed.
This made Carpenter both drop his Holiday theme and stopped being hands on the Halloween franchise.

That's a very general and ignorant statement. Halloweens 2-102 were not great by anymeans, but Halloween is a classic. It is one of the great teen slasher 'types' With this and movies like Nightmare on Elm street, Friday the 13th, im not gonna nam all of them. This new genre was born and teen slasher movies became popular for a long time. It was important to the horror community, am i glad that movies are moving away from this form of horror, yes, but that doesnt mean i don't respect the genre. Do i like these movie, no, but i respect them for what they have done and so should you.

How can you guys talk shit about the O.G. Halloween on a horror forum? It is great and new people are not. If you are going to rip it explain or shut up.

I wasn't ripping the original Halloween, I think it was great, one of the best ever. I was just curious as to why part 3 had nothing to do with the others. Also, I think its safe to say that the series went downhill after that.
