Well Craig_Sheffer_#1Fan it's very easy to attack a movie such as "The Evil Dead", especially now. "The Evil Dead" was made in 1981 and by today's standards the movie is laughable. But you have to remeber and take into consderation movies that older than 1985 can appear very funny to us, due to our huge gap in technology, special efx. and new directing skills. But back when this movie was first released it terrified auidences. It was one the scariest movies of it's time. So to say "The Evil Dead Sucks" and have no support to it is a very ignorant statement. If you really don't like tell me why? i'm sure all of us want to know. Also i'm sure if they re-make this movie and re-release it youll be pissing you pants.
And there's no need to attack newbies, we were all newbies at one point and to attack them detracts them from messaging. Btw before you leave a message and tell me how a newbie like me can't tell you want to say, i'm not trying to but you down im just pointing out many false conclusion that can be drawn from older movies.

Im sorry for "dissing your taste in music," though we are talking about the film Evil Dead. I just didn't think it was a shit film. Just because it wasn't basted in special effects doesn't make it bad. Back then the film probably scared the shit out of people or at least amused them. I still think the movie is a classic. It's creative, scary, and original. Though I do admit the acting is bad. But Raimi did have a low budget. Im just saying that before you say you hate a movie, explain why you hate it.

Why is it shit? Because it relies on special effects rather than good direction, acting or plot, and those special effects are badly done even for the time and even for the budget. It looks like the 'Sledgehammer' music video.
There are plenty of films made many years before that look far better, are better directed, the story is better etc. It's just a shit film.
I said it's ok it you don't agree with me, I just wanted to know if anyone else agreed with me that it's shit. If you can't deal with someone having different opinions on films than you then you never should have come on a movie discussion forums to start with.

If you guys want to see a good low budget, independent zombie film check out Undead. It was made on Australian $1,000,000, which is about US $730,753.
It came out over there in September, so it could be out of cinemas now. But check for it at your video store.
It's a fucking funny film and has absolutely mind blowing special effects for it's budget. I swear to god, better special effects than the first Resident Evil - and the directors of Undead did the special effects on their home computers.
