Forums: Best Cast of 2011

  • Movies are nothing without their cast and there comes a time where one movie or two have the best ensemble. Like @moviegeek, I want to hold the Best Cast forum (assuming it hasn't been done yet). List your top five cast in a movie until the end of January 31st, I will count all the suggestions to see which is the winner and the runner up. You can also delete and repost if you have a new selection. Until the year is over I have yet to post mine. Have fun :)

    There exist four rulers in this world: Gods, Humans, Vampires and Werewolves. The Question is, who do you think is above the food chain?

  • New Years Eve......JUST KIDDING! HA.

    Hmmm....great question. If I had to answer at this moment I'd say TGWTDT just because of Rooney and Craig's chemistry and the duo of Lisbeth and Mikeal. But, I'll look back at all the movies I've seen this year (My list states over 150 films) so I'll get back to you.

  • Actually, my mistake, I've only seen 137 2011 releases this year. That number is going up big though since I have the week off. My 2010 list of films had 151 on it, I need to top it with 2011 haha

  • @bawnian-dexeus Contagion. Hahaha, yeah right. I'm gonna go with The Ides of March. Gosling carries the film in an oscar-worthy performance, while Clooney, Rachel Wood, Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei, Jeffrey Wright, and Jennifer Ehle all give outstanding supporting performances.

    @corey Dude, that's insane :)

  • @thedude-abides My list? Eh, I'm proud of it. Goes to show how obsessive I am with seeing literally everything that releases haha

  • @corey Haha. You should expend some of that time and energy going back and watching old movies. That's what I do :)

    You're still young, yes? I'm 24 and I've only been watching movies obsessively for 3 years. I watch about 500-600 movies a year, and that doesn't include the ones I've already seen. Yet, there are still hundreds I would like to see that I haven't gotten around to. Just think how many you will have seen by my age if you start now. You'll be a badass.

  • @thedude-abides 24 is still young, my dude. I'm 17 and please, I'm already a badass for how many reviews I pump out a year. I made my new account in February and I already got over 150 reviews. Lets not forget the other 300 on my old account. But yeah, next year maybe my resolution can be to catch up on a lot of classics and older flicks. Maybe I can pick a decade and make sure I see every film released in that decade by the time the year ends. That'd be fun.

  • @corey Haha. There are no self-proclaimed badasses, lol. Remember that. Although, you are a machine when it comes to watching movies and pumping (did I say that right? pumping?) out reviews. I think the decade idea is a fine one. You should do it.

  • I have to say that I've probably seen less movies this year than any prior, ever since I started on this site. While you guys (@thedude-abides, @corey) see films in the hundreds per year, it'd be a stretch for me to say I've watched fifty films this year. Lol.

    Anyways, I guess the best ensemble cast I've seen all year would be in Super-8, which doesn't say too much.

    The films I've yet to see - 50/50, Moneyball, Drive, The Ides of March, Adventures of Tintin, Mission: Impossible - GP, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, War Horse.

  • Cast of super 8, fantastic kids that will have great careeers ahead of them, they make that movie! Joel Courtney and Elle fanning especially but the others are still great :)

  • @corey To see every film of each decade would be a challenge, even if it is for a year. Good luck! :)
