  • I'm struggling through the last hundred pages of The Pillars of the Earth. Mediocre at best I'm afraid. Not impressed with it at all.

  • @prof. Tripp & ParkWilliams. How are you liking King's stuff. Cell, Insomnia and Salem's Lot are on my King's stuff top ten list.

I just finished Alex Cross's Trial by James Patterson. Completely different than his other Alex Cross novels. I'm now reading Nothing To Lose by Lee Child and will soon start The Confession by John Grisham.

  • @movientvfan I didn't get into King until recently, and then only because of The Dark Tower series. It's a staggering achievement. As far as his other work, I enjoy it though I do find his writing to be occasionally long winded.

  • @aoshi "Eaters of the Dead" I couldn't get into. However, I read it when I was younger, before they ever made The 13th Warrior movie from it, but it was the only one of Crichton's novels that didn't intrigue me. I made it halfway through the book and stopped reading. Too boring. Now his other works are fascinating. I want to re-buy "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World," the latter of which was excellent! Way better than the movie (his books always are), and I still have "Next" and his posthumous "Pirate Latitudes" sitting on my shelf. "Prey" and "State of Fear" were also excellent reads.

Currently, I have some digital comics to sift through, which include "The Flash: Rebirth" and Marvel Comics' crossover event, "Civil War." Now I will have to pick and choose, since it's the full collection, over 100 issues, I'll probably just read Civil War #1-7 and the Amazing Spider-Man tie-ins. After having read "Green Lantern: Rebirth," I have high expectations for Flash. Should be good. Gonna soon have to get "Sinestro Corps War" and "Blackest Night," eventually.

@skywise Excellent series for the most part. Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, Blood of the Fold, and Faith of the Fallen are great reads. Although Goodkind can be pretty preachy at times.

@skywise But if you finish all 11 (actually 12 now, he just finished writing a prequel novel to the series called The First Confessor), it has an extremely satisfying ending.

And I am reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

  • @dan1 Once I start a series like this I have to see it to the end. He had a way of really getting me invested in the character from the first page. Cant say the same for Robert Jordan.

I have American Gods, I may just read it next but i have been saying that for a year now and have yet to read it. I did read Good Omens recently though by Gaiman and Pratchett.

Also, I have the entire Sandman saga and all the tie ins by Gaiman on digits so I am currently reading Gaiman's work. Last years Doctor Who run had an amazing episode written by him. Probably the best episode of the season...if your into that sort of thing.
