  • Alright guys. Tomorrow is the DEADLINE to put all host/category nominations forth. After that, should you have complaints, it can't be helped. So please contribute! While I appreciate the few of you who have commented your piece, I expected a lot more folk to speak up, understandably so. The entire point of this is to have an awards ceremony that we can all take pleasure in and be content with. It won't work without some form of reasonable participation and excitement. That being said, I understand that there has been a lot of tagging lately; between Happy Potter review marathons, the influx of news lately, and the odd-ball forum, it's easy for this to get lost in the shuffle. Here's hoping you folk manage to donate your attention to the forum and speak up this time.

Now I have two quick questions that will take a whopping three minutes to respond to. If you can manage, that'd be fantastic.

    1. In terms of nominating individual winners for the chosen categories, would you rather :
    A) Nominate a single individual for that individual award.
    B) Nominate several users for that award, and give them runner ups based on a point system.
    C) Nominate several candidates and have the host choose from that group.
    D) Or rather have the host nominate the users for the category, and you choose the winner?

    2. Should there be any type of award for any particular category that we can practically provide, or should it just remain "titles and bragging rights"?

Anyways, respond so whoever hosts can have a better way to tackle this thing, and please nominate categories. After midnight tomorrow, I will announce the winning host. Then a week's break will commence, after which the host will create the voting forum and unveil the ten categories for your voting pleasure. Enjoy.

  • There exist four rulers in this world: Gods, Humans, Vampires and Werewolves. The Question is, who do you think is above the food chain?

  • Jesus this is too confusing. I can't even keep up with the real categories from the fake ones.
You think Pike and Sykes haven't been watchin' us. They know what this is all about - and what do I have? Nothin' but you egg-suckin', chicken stealing gutter trash with not even sixty rounds between you. We're after men - and I wish to God I was with 'em

  • @narrator For the first question, I like option D, but I don't think the host should determine who's up for the awards. I think the nomination process should be similar to that of option B, where the users determine the nominees based on who receives the most nominations, and then the final selection be between a list of the 3 people who received the most votes. Is that at all possible? Maybe a combination of B and D?

As for the second question, give me an idea of what qualifies as practical. I definitely think movieweb should present the winners similar to the way they did the winners of the MW Oscars. But, aside from that, I'm not really sure what's practical and what's not.

  • @slysnide, what do you mean? There are no real or fake categories. Everyone is just nominating the category they want to see and the host eventually chooses the ten he finds most appropriate. Nothing official yet.

  • D seems the easiest, as for me, don't wanna sound too egomaniac, but I think I should be nominated for: Box-Office prophet, Mr. Know it All, and Best-New-comer User :)
Oh, and we should have a 'Best Username category'.

  • @ghostman Oh, I'd win that in a landslide, lol. In all seriousness, I'm adding that to my list of categories. Great idea, friend.

  • @narrator -- I'm in favor of (B) and leave it as "titles and bragging rights". But, I don't mind the other options.

  • @narrator. Definitely have the host nominate three or four users for each category and then the users vote. You'll never get a clear consensus otherwise. Good luck with this first one :)

    5. Movieweb Insider
