Just finished Justice League Vol 1. I liked how everyone kept picking on Bats for having no superpowers, and how it addressed Aquafresh, I mean Aquaman's lameness. I wasn't a fan of them replacing Martian Manhunter with Cyborg, but Cyborg's origin was cool enough. Slightly irritated that Wonder Woman was back to square one with being unfamiliar with our society, but she's drawn beautifully, definitely distracts while reading, without being too overtly sexual like Catwoman. Darkseid being used as the catalyst to bring them all together initially was okay (growing a little bored of that villain now), but the prospect of a good all star series is there. I'd give it a B-.

  • I just finished reading the Hellboy spinoff: Abe Sapien - the Devil Does Not Jest. I am not a huge Hellboy fan but I must say that the Abe Sapien spinoff was quite good. There are only 2 mags to the series so it is a quick read but I was very happy to see Sapien have his day. He is my favorite character from the Hellboy series. If you are in to that, the story by Mignola was excellent and the art by James Harren was quite good.

There exist four rulers in this world: Gods, Humans, Vampires and Werewolves. The Question is, who do you think is above the food chain?

  • Been catching up slowly on all new 52's, the second wave and such. Long journey ahead, but I'm living it. Although, I think they need to step it up with Superman. Hell, Action Comics and Superboy has better peaked interest.

This will most likely be the dumbest question you will ever see me ask, but I've always wondered, what's the deal with DC having the color blue and Marvel having the color red? Has it always been that way? There something political about it, or is it just chance that the marketers chose these specific colors for the company logo designs?

    Just curious is all

  • @bawnian-dexeus That's a very good question. I have no idea, frankly. But I always thought they were fitting. DC has a lot of blues. Look at their Top 3. Supes and Bats had mainly blue-covered costumes and WW had a blue bikini. MARVEL on the other hand, I attributed to Spidey being their flagship character and he was mostly red, but go figure. This is most likely not the correct answer.

  • @ejk1 So Death of the Family is the next story arc in the Batman universe, and it's also my topic of choice for my final paper in my Film class. Mind if I ask what to expect? Only because of all the users, I think you are the one more tuned to this than I am

@bawnian-dexeus Well, it's supposed to go all the way to January in multiple books, so I'm not sure how you're gonna tackle it. You can get a listing of the books and start reading; only two prelude books, Catwoman and Batgirl, and Batman which kicked it off have been released. Each is issue #13 in their respective series.' If you could give me some detail as to what the paper pertains, I may be able to help a little more.

  • @ejk1 Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I'm up to speed with the stories with the current released issues. I need to include authorship as part of my paper but I can't seem to find anymore info on Scott Snyder
