  • Hey y'all. This is a thread that was popular on the forums of another movie website I used to visit regularly, before I joined MovieWeb. I think it's cool just to see what people watch during a given week. In the theater, DVD, TV, anything. Tis simple. What did ya watch?

I'll start it off for what I watched last week

    School of Rock
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Monty Python's Life of Brian
    Time Bandits
    Twisted
    Monster
    Starsky and Hutch
    Hidalgo

Umm I think that's about it. It was a slow week last week. What'd you guys see last week?
  • Oh fun!

Let's see, this week I watched...

The Usual Suspects (for the very first time!)
    Starsky and Hutch
    Royal Tenenbaums

It's hard to get in good movie watching time when your in school full time.

Gallagher, how was Hidalgo? I am looking forward to seeing that one. Also, I am hoping to purchase School of Rock soon.
  • Wow. You never saw The Usual Suspects before? That's one of my all-time fav's! Didn't it just rock? One of the best endings of all time!

Hidalgo was a good. Very nicely done. 4 stars out of 5. I saw Monster, Starsky and Hidalgo on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I haven't had time yet to write up reviews on them yet. But they'll be coming in a few days. Yeah, Viggo is great, he can definitely carry a movie. Later!

  • Usual Suspects is excellent!

    I saw:

    Northfork
    Duplex
    Harry Potter: Philosopher's Stone
    The Missing

All worth watching, Duplex was not the best, but cute to rent on DVD anyway.

  • Oh man let's see. The other day I watched Alien, Snatch and School of Rock.

Final Destination 2 which was f*cking hillarious. And Boogie Nights :(

I didn't know Starsky and Hutch was already out (at least in the USA).

    I watched:

    Black Hawk Down (director's commentary)

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (most of it, anyway)

A Volar, Joven! (Cantinflas movie, but I only watched the first half)

Nothing else (not a movie; I literally meant nothing else)

I was born in the very end of the seventies!

Do you mean the series was based on a movie, or the movie was made for TV from the series?

Yeah, I really liked.. no loved Usual Suspects. It was an awesome movie! Unfortunately, I predicted the ending, but it was still cool. Also, I've seen Scary Movie, so that gave some of the plot away....I think that cast did an amazing job. I wish Kevin Pollock was a more popular actor, he always does an excellent job.

That's cool that Viggo can hold his own movie. My brother and I were talking about how we hope the actor's who were in LOTR careers don't stop or struggle now that the trilogy is completed.

Haha! Did you read my column yesterday Sarah? The Week in Review.....I talk about one of the hobbit's next career move....movieweb/news/news.php?id=2983

Other than that, I think the rest of the cast will be just fine, especially Viggo, Wood, Astin, McKellan and Lee.
  • Oh Lord. Why Billy?! It's like someone asked him what movie he wanted to do next and he replied, " I want to do the crappiest one."...silly hobbit.

Good column by the way! :D

Haha! Yeah, either that or maybe Chucky had some blackmail on him or something. Some top-secret hobbit porn or something;) haha

    Thanks Sarah. Much obliged:)
  • Hobbit porn...Uh oh...Hopefully, Mary, Frodo, and Sam weren't involved. 8O

I saw Billy Boyd on The Sharon Osbourne show, and he was funny and he sang Britney Spears, "One More TIme" on the guitar. It was cool....but he should of chose a different song, at least a more recent song. It's sad that he is not making good movie choices because he was my favorite hobbit. :( Well, I just love Mary and Pippin.

Wonderland, nice! That was pretty damn good, eh? I'll watch anything from Lions Gate Films because their movies are "out there" (See: Frailty, Rules of Attraction, Dogma). That and I'm a huge Kilmer fan. Ever see The Salton Sea? Whoa! Great movie!
  • Um... what DID I see?

This incredible doc called Prisoner of Paradise (more on it at some other point)
    most of Confidence
a little bit of Lost In Translation, since they were screening it at school but I was in class for the first half... and that's not a movie that you want to watch half of- you must see it from beginning to end, so I saw what was on when I went into the room for a few mins... when she gets on the train to go to the Buddhist temple.

I also watched myself try to schedule everything I had to do since it's midterm season.

Ah..."Beverly Hillbillies"...Jim Varney's finest work. "The Fan" was so disappointing. Damn you De Niro and your subpar work. Why do all of my favorite actors make crap? Yes, I'm talking to you too Morgan Freeman.
  • I know. Morgan Freeman is such a talented actor, but he needs to make better choices in film.

  • i just rented Thirteen today and i found it to be very realistic. So realistic infact that at some points I found it hard to watch. Man I don't know what I'm going to do when my future children are teenagers. I'm in for a hell of a ride.
  • What the hell did I watch this week? Oh now I remember,

I started off on sunday with an Excellent Episode of The Sopranos which went right into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

On Monday I watched The Matrix, The Animatrix, Matrix Reloaded, and then I started playing the Enter the Matrix video game. You can just guess what I watched on Tuesday.

I saw Hellboy somewhere in the middle of it all and Then paid fifteen bucks in late fees and then went home and watched Battle Royale.

On Thursday I watched Newsies and I skipped out on going to see The Girl Next Door on Friday. Now I'm back to square one, last night was Sopranos and I'm going to spend the rest of the day watching Pulp Fiction and Reservoir dogs.

  • Yesterday I rented Cabin Fever and it was an alright movie. It kind of lost it's grip on you with some of the characters antics and events. Besides that it was kind of messed up the way the disease spread from person to person. 2 stars the most.
  • Only saw one movie at the theater this week. The Punisher. Give it a 8.5/10, very entertaining.

  • Oh man I watched some funny stuff last week. One of those awesome movies that everyone kept telling me to rent but just never got around to it.

"Meet the Feebles" A masterpiece of Drugs and Debauchery with Muppets.

2 Fast 2 Furious. Seriously watch it so you can see how many times Paul Walker say's BRO.

Full Metal Jacket. Sweet Jesus this movie has gone long enough without having a home in my collection.

The Italian Job. I have now officially added on "Handsome" to my name.

Bad Santa. I was actually disturbed by this movie.

And I finished watching Band of Brothers.
