  • My favorite i'd have to say is John Williams and the score for E.T.

  • NO WAAAAAAYYY! I can't believe it. E.T. is totally my favorite score of all time, so good choice.

However, Hans Zimmer is my favorite score writer, and my favorite score by him is Gladiator.

While I think John Williams is the best as far as scoring goes and the process of overlapping the music to the film, I think that Hans Zimmer's scores generally are more attractive to my ears for some reason.

And i have a feeling one day Giachinno will be my favorite. As you can see im torn. But im sticking with zimmer for now.

  • Hanz Zimmer. cant decide between inception and dark knight. both film scores are just incredible and take a life of their own.

    Hans Zimmer - Pearl Harbor

  • Hans Zimmer and Howard shore are my two utmost favorite composers, followed by Michael Giachinno. However my favorite score piece will come as a shoc kto some as it did to me.

Tyler Bates - I Love you (mom)

I haven't heard anything on par with that piece in terms of tranquil acceptance. Fantastic.

But as I stated Shore and Zimmer are my favorites.

  • Mine is Hanz Zimmer for Inception. It's one of the only two movie scores I have on my iPod, the other (which, for me, was a close second), is Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy soundtrack. Both fantastic additions to their respective movies.

  • @McCartney I wouldn say Daft Punk was fantastic, just very good.

  • Jerry Goldsmith hands down! Trying to pick just one of my favourite score of his is painful, but it would probably have to be Star Trek: The Motion Picture

  • Hard one - so I'll have to go with . . .

James Newton Howard - Visions (from Unbreakable)

I always find myself listening to that at least once on a daily basis.

  • Sorry guys, but you're all wrong...save for Soylent. ;)
You think Pike and Sykes haven't been watchin' us. They know what this is all about - and what do I have? Nothin' but you egg-suckin', chicken stealing gutter trash with not even sixty rounds between you. We're after men - and I wish to God I was with 'em

  • Favorite Composer is John Williams and Hanz Zimmer. Zimmer's score for Inception was phenominal while Williams has a giant list of great scores (Star Wars 1-6, E.T, Indiana Jones 1-4, Home Alone 1 & 2 etc.). I also really love the score for How To Train Your Dragon by John Powell (Best tracks on the score are "This Is Berk, Test Drive, Forbidden Friendship, Romantic Flight, Where's Hiccup and Coming Back Around") and i also really love the score for Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk (whole Score is Badass)

John Williams- Star Wars. Cliche, I know, but it is the tune I catch myself humming or whistling most, so it obviously must be my favorite.

  • Lol @Sly. I'm pretty sure Diaigma is right. :P
But I do love @Soylents answer. That's a keeper for sure, along with the 007 theme song, the Jaws theme song, and the Star Wars theme song.

But yeah, to reiterate my last comment:

    Favorite Piece: Time - Inception

    Runner Up: Howard Shore
    Favorite Piece: Gollums Song

    Runner Up: Michael Giacchino
    Favorite Piece: Life and Death

All Time Favorite Piece: I Love You (Mom) - Tyler Bates

@Narrator Yup i love Gollums song as well. For me however for Hans ZImmer, Its either "The lion king" "The last samurai" or "Rain man"
