  • Harrison Ford takes a dramatic step backward in this trifle of a film. Ron Shelton produces, directs, and writes one of the biggest flops of the summer, so far. The film was as inteligent as an Easter egg, and it spewed lame lines at every turn. This film will enjoy no replay value (as no one who has seen will ever want to see it again), and will most likely be gone from most main theater chains within the next two weeks. The film tries to be clever in its comedy, but comes up very short. The film attempts to be hip by adding faded and bland rap music to the background (Usually these types of summer movies have a decent soundtrack... not here). Any one who compares this film to "Lethal Weapon" should be shot, this flick was no where close to Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Instead think back to a year ago, remeber that really sh*tty movie with Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphy... "Showtime"... "Hollywood Homicide" is more on par with that ("Showtime" was also another stepback for De Niro and Murphy). The script played like a poorly written TV sitcom (two contridicting story lines to push different emotions from the audience). The real-estate and yoga aspect of the story was just not funny. To retort back to the critic who reviewed the film on this site, there is a reason this idea of a real-estate agent has never been done before- because it is stupid! The cops is these comedies need to overcome adversity with each other... that is what makes it interesting (if you notice the previews give the allusion that Ford and Hartnett don't like each other, the producers did that because that is what sells... to quote Robert McKee it is a "principle" that states an idea "works... and has through all remembered time.") Don't waste your money or time with this film, if you are looking for a summer action movie go see "The Italian Job" again.

  • I saw the preview for this when I went to see X2, and I almost wept for Harrison Ford. His eyes looked DEAD!

I have no intention of seeing this, and I'm truly sorry that you had to take one for the team, Mr. White.

  • I actually really liked this movie.

  • I haven'e seen it yet, but I do plan to eventually, though I'm in no rush. Shak had his opinion, and that's cool. But in all fairness, Ebert did give this film a good review, so dont completetely write it off. Just because it didn't click with Shak doesn't mean it's a BAD movie.

  • The guest did. But at least he didn't make an entirely new thread about it.

I watched L.A Confidential the other day and remembered how great of a film it is. I never saw Hollywood Homicide and never really wanted too. I like Harison Ford and I saw the pics of the Saleen Mustang they were driving but other than that nothing really sparked my interest.
