  • Let's hear your thoughts on casting choices or plot elements you'd like to see in the rumored FF reboot. I'll kick 'er off...

Director: Neill Blomkamp-D9 was a masterful science fiction film. Given a bigger budget, it would be interesting to see what Blomkamp would be able to do. It certainly wouldn't be cheesy.

Writer: Joss Whedon-His Astonishing X-Men run proved he can write the hell out of super heroes.

    Cast:
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic: Billy Crudup-Looks the part, handled a science-heavy character in Watchmen(would obviously have to show more emotion)
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman: Charlize Theron-tough, good actress, would look good in a tight costume
Johnny Storm/Human Torch: Chris Pine-portrayed c*cky but heroic figure in Star Trek, can do the same here
Ben Grimm/The Thing: Mickey Rourke- Up for debate, not final decision, but the best I could think of at the moment
Victor van Damme/Dr. Doom: Johnny Depp- Great actor, could easily portray a troubled genius

Premise: Influenced by Ultimate FF; introduce the five main characters above at a young age; Reed, Sue, and Victor are recruited for a government think tank at a young age to perfect teleportation; Victor is a friend at first, but after the accident, spirals down the "Anakin Skywalker" path, blaming Reed for his disfigurement; Ben and Johnny are obviously brought into the equation as Reed's best friend/"body guard"-type character, and Johnny as Sue's brother; after years of research and work, they conduct the experiment which teleports them through the N-Zone, giving them their powers.

Themes/Basic Ideas: Fun, but not corny fun as seen in the other films(think "Star Trek" reboot); Heavy on the sci-fi; set up the N-Zone for sequel(Anihilus); stress the family dynamic w/o making it a kids PG-film; and for the love of GOD, make Dr. Doom a legitimate BAD ASS!!!

  • i don't think Neill Blomkamp is good for fantastic 4 movie-it is just not his style

  • Yeah, I'm definitely open to more suggestions on director, as well as for Ben Grimm. I don't think Rourke would fit.

I wouldn't complain if Blomkamp was chosen, but you're right, it doesn't seem his style.

  • See Josh's forum on the same subject.

  • The guy who played the Comedian would be good as Grimm? Depp as Doom, I think not? Gary Oldman, maybe someone with more stature to play Doom. Maybe a Frank Langella? You have to get Cammeron to direct FF!!

  • Sorry, gang. I was going to start a forum on all the supposed Marvel reboots, but I couldn't think of a good cast for Daredevil or Spider-Man...so I just posted an FF forum, forgetting there already was one.

On a side note, I think the Daredevil reboot should be called "Daredevil: The Man Without Fear" and that Anton Yelchin should play Spider-Man. Other than that, I got nothing.

  • Please don't recycle past characters from the last two movies. First one was good. The second one was too over the top.

  • No, if anything the second one was better. They were both corny and mediocre and none of the characters except Ben were really portrayed well.

  • Depp would make a good Sinister.

  • 1. Robert Patrick as Dr. Doom, 2. Sam Worthington as The Thing (i can see him having an explosive moment, he has them all the time in 'Titans series), 3. Sam Claflin as The Human Torch, 4. Amber Heard as The Invisible Woman, and 5. Gabriel Macht as Mr. Fantastic
