Forums: Help! Trying to find OLD Animated Movies

Okay guys I am trying to find the name of this old movie I watched when I was a kid. The cartoon graphics were along the line of the movie "The Last Unicorn." Here was the plot for the movie I am trying to find. A professor (or guy at least) comes in contact with this magical game he is obsessed with and becomes a dragon. Throughout the movie, the guy learns how to become a dragon i.e. breath fire, etc. I also remember something about a princess and her father having stomach ulcers and the professor telling him about milk instead of wine to drink. And finally the ending had something to do with a multi-headed dragon or something. I think there was a knight involved as well in the plot as a friend of the dragon and princess. Any help will be wonderful.

Does anyone remember an old animated movie about some animals that left for school without kissing their mom goodbye and when they came back something happened so they had to fly in this wooden ship or boat thing to go get some magic blue or purple flower to help cure everybody. Hey, Im super glad i found this thread because I have been looking for a certian movie for about 15 years and maybe someone can finally help!!! I cant remember its name and I look for it every time Im in a video store but it seems I had the only copy ( it got destroyed long ago). It started with a little girl and she was upset and ran to her barn. She had a horse and I dont remember if she fell asleep or what but when she walked outside again, her horse was white and she was somewhere else on a starry night. I dont remember many more details after this except that at one point she gets sprayed with this evil potion that turns her and her dress darker as well as this heart on her dress. I remember the heart on her dress very well, so I think it had some significance. Sorry I cant give many more details, Iwas pretty young when I saw it. I hope someone knows what this is ( it was NOT sailor moon so dont offer that suggestion) thanks!

omg the latter one is exactly the one im looking for !! yuu hav no idea how much pain im going thru to find out the title ! plz tell me if yuu know the title or if anyone else knows it ? i remember something w/ the classical music and at one point there was this fairy thing riding 2 eighth notes like a bike. i remember a lot of flowers and in the end, i think the guy wakes up in the greenhouse? and i think the same main character was late at his orchestra's practice or something... plz help me find the title !! my parents dont kno it and it's relaly killing me T^T

I think the film you are looking for is Tubby the Tuba, made in 1975, with dick van dyck as Tubby. There are three stories within the film and the third one (the one you are talking about is called 'The Story of Celeste'. Was the main guy a musical instrument? A tuba? They fall in love I think. There is not much info about this film on the 'net. It was the film I was looking for.

I don't have a lot of info, but this one is driving me crazy! It was a dark-style children's movie (like The Hobbit) so it may be from the 70's but can't be later than the late 80's because I was little when I saw it. I believe it was about a girl, and she gets lost (maybe in the woods) with some items that are supposed to help her. One was a hand warmer (muff) and the other might have been a dagger. She met a mean boy who took her things except the hand warmer (I definetly remember him saying "You can keep the muff.") I didn't own the movie, and don't remember much other this, but I liked it. I've been digging for it all day and came up with nothing. It may have been a dub since it's nowhere to be found, but again I'm not sure of much.

I used to watch a Movie that starts as a film to go into animation and then back to film.
It's about a boy sitting in his Living-room talking to a friend by phone.
Suddenly a very big Flying Gift box with a red gift bundle comes flying through his window.
This box converts in a kind of control point and has a car in which the boy jumps in and drives through the box to land in this animated world where he mets a lot of different characters.
I think the name f the boy was Mailo. But I'm not sure, since I watched the film like in 1982 or so, and it was in spanish.
Anyways I think the main theme of the film is Laziness.
A scene that I remember was a guy that would give you an unproductive idiot work like picking a huge stone wall with a needle.

If anyone knows the Title of this film pleeease let me know!

I found it!!!!! :):):) this is crazy.. I was looking for it for so long... and directly after posting this post "pre-edit", I found the title in the IMDB! the name is: The Phantom Tollbooth !

I need some help too. I'm trying to find the titles of two movies.

1) There's an elephant, and one day he decides to go on an adventure. He walks out of his house and bird in a tree (that's wilting) talks to him. He keeps walking and finds a baby pig that has wings. He decides to help the piglet finds it mother and they keep going. Then they find a scarecrow (I think), and he also joins them. They end up in the woods where a black cat tells them to be careful or something and then vanishes and a gust of wind knocks them into different trees where doors open. The piglet finds his mother in one of the trees in a cell. The elephant, piglet, and scarecrow find each other and leave. Somehow they end up in a whale that you climb down the blowhole and there's a hotel inside. The woman who works in the whale lives under the sea. Her husband is missing. So, the elephant goes to find the man, and ends up on a pirate ship where the lady's husband is. There's something to do with electric eels, then they eventually take the husband back to his wife and leave. They end up in like a palace where the elephant is in a library and there's a big, wise bird in a cage. The elephant accidentally knocks off a jar of liquid and the bird tells him to put some powder on it. It turns into a pink, crystal heart (which I remember very clearly). Then he pockets it, they think it is the emperess's magic or something. And she's been captured by some evil guy or something. Anyway, the elephant ice skates at one point. Eventually the emperess comes out in a garden and says that the crystal isn't the magic and instead has a thimble that has swirling colors in it. And the evil is defeated and the elephant goes back home (using an umbrella, I believe) and hangs the crystal in the tree and it blooms.

2) Something about tiny goblin like creatures at christmas time. I remember one ends up in a house because he's nice and not mean like the others and someone takes a small bible off the christmas tree and gives it to him so he can have a bible his own size.

Well i know the first one you're trying to find.I Went through a search for it myself a couple years ago. It's called "The Sea Prince and the Fire Child". One of my all time favorites.
I don't know the second one but it sounds remotely like one i'm still looking for. Did it happen to have classical music in it at any point? Or a spiral of music notes? Or fairy like things? And was there a greenhouse in it at any point?
I'm still looking for a bunch from my youth. That last one even stumps my parents, they say i'm nutts.

I searched youtube for Heidi and only found one thing in English so I am not sure if that is what I am looking for. I think we rented it on my 5th birthday 1981. I just remember the journey looking for the flower that could save her grandfather.

And I watched the entire movie Sea Prince and the Fire Child on youtube last night. Wow, been a long time.

Regarding my last post I found a German version on you tube and scanned it. I swar the girl looks right but back then they all had big pretty eyes. I am almost positive the flower was needed for her sick grandfather. Someone suggested Heidi before. Was their more than one story. I know the typical story. Was there a series where she might have had to go find a flower?

Hi, uuum, I don't know if anyone still visits this but it's worth a shot.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone remembered this old animated film that had nearly every nursery rhyme imaginable mixed into it. From what I remember it was about this black sheep who had escaped from prison and started working with the wolves in town to fleece every sheep in town, since sheep fleece is incredibly soft. The police officers in this town were dogs, and the officer sent to track down the black sheep was named Little Boy Blue (I think).

My memory gets hazy from their, but the wolves had this mob thing going on, and I remember this female wolf singing the 'Ba Ba Black Sheep' nursery rhyme in a club. I also remember the police dressing up in egg outfits to hide at the meeting place the black sheep and the wolves were meeting at the exchange the money and fleece. And I remember chase seens, and angry 'naked' sheep in snow, and little Bo Beep having no luck in finding her sheep XD

So if anyone remembers this film or at least it's name, it'd be very much appreciated. Thanks!!

Does anyone have any idea what this animation could have been: One of my earliest memories is watching some animation that had similar style with Ralph Bakshi's movies (especially American Pop and Nine lives of Fritz the cat) and Heavy metal. Scanner darkly also reminded me of that movie. It must have been from 70's or 80's. Lots of brown, green and gray. It was pretty dark and i only remember the beginning. There was this kinda redneck man, big and kinda hillbilly with masculine voice who lived in country in brown house, sitted on sofa and propably drank beer/booze and the house was all messed up. dishes were not washed, water was dripping in the kitchen, everything smelled and there were flys. I'm pretty sure he had green shirt. And there was helicopter in the sky. Making lots of noise. The man also had a dog. I don't really remember nothing much else, but I remember it was cool and i would like to see it again. Does anyone know this cartoon?
