One story was about a boy and a girl who fall in love. The problem was, the boy lived underwater, and couldn't see the sun, or he would die. The girl lived on lnad, and couldn't touch the water, or she would die...so they met at night. I remember in the end, they each sacrificed themselves to save the other...and there was something with a dragon? I can;t remember, and its driving me CRAZY!
The other story I have a bit of a problem remembering. THere's something about a boy who playes a pipe (like Pan) and people turning to stone, and a little lamb character. If this rings a bell, please help! I want to find these movies, as I want to show my kids what I loved as a kid.
More titles I loved: THe Last Unicorn, Little Nemo in Slumbrland.
Thses movies I'm trying to find are in the same genre of animation, I think.
Thanks for all your help!
Well i know the first one you're trying to find.I Went through a search for it myself a couple years ago. It's called "The Sea Prince and the Fire Child". One of my all time favorites.
I don't know the second one but it sounds remotely like one i'm still looking for. Did it happen to have classical music in it at any point? Or a spiral of music notes? Or fairy like things? And was there a greenhouse in it at any point?
I'm still looking for a bunch from my youth. That last one even stumps my parents, they say i'm nutts.
There was an animated movie either from the 70's or 80's that I'm trying to find the title of. It starts off with a little girl. (The way the characters looked remind me kind of the way the cartoon people look on Pokemon) The girl worked in a restaurant type of place and the couple who took care of her (not her parents) mistreated her. She was like their servant. Somehow this man comes and takes her away and brings her up as his own. The setting when she is older is during some kind of war. I think the man who took her in ends up captive in some kind of prison. The girl falls in love with a guy who endes up joining the military. I'm sad to say that I only remember bits and pieces and don't quite remember the ending (I'm sure it was a good one). I think the girls name is Corsette or Collette. I would appreciate any guesses on this one.
Thank you!
yea i really dont remember too much. if any of that sounds familiar please let me know

Hey dude. I'm very sure I know which movie you're asking about. Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. Also one of my all-time favorites as a child. It also had a royal scepter, a flying squirrel named Icarus, and King Morpheus telling Nemo not to go through that door, correct?
i am 90% sure its called twice upon a time. its definately not that nemo movie. I remember seeing the one you are talking about on HBO when I was a kid. The cartoon characters actually cussed in it and stuff. I also remember the darkness thing taking over the earth. Its listed on the IMDB site. Maybe i'm just tired. Ive been trying to find this stupid movie all night. ugh.
When this lamb grows up, he is now a scary looking ram sheep, too, and easily hurt wolves when they would try to hurt sheep. When he goes back home, everyone is afraid of him, and it ends very sadly....
Does anyone know what movie this is?! :O

Oh. I'm not very sure on this...but what you are saying kinda sounds like a Sailor Moon movie, called The Black Dream Hole.
My fiancee LOVES The Sea Prince and the Fire Child, and told me the anime movie was actually originally a book. I am on the hunt for this book as a wedding present to him (we're getting married in February next year). I've done my research, and have come up with only this: the original story is called "Shiriusu no Densetsu" by Shintaro Tsuji - he founded the Sanrio co., and was the producer for the Sea Prince/Fire Child anime (which was distributed by Sanrio).
I have been searching off-and-on for about 4 or 5 years now (we'll have been together for 9 when we get married), and this book--if it even exists?--has been the one gift that has always eluded me. Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas's have all come and gone, and the closest I've ever come to getting him this is the VHS cartoon feature from a comic-convention. I am in the process of trying to procure the DVD release that is out ... but this book would just be perfect.
What I need help with, is if anyone can tell me if this book even truly exists?! If I'm pulling my hair out for nothing, somebody please stop me. If I'm just not looking in the right place, somebody please re-direct me. Was he mis-informed? ISthere truly a book based on the story The Sea Prince and the Fire Child? And if so, where oh WHERE can I find it?!
PLEEEEAAAASE ... somebody help me!!!!!

He opens a door with a key entrusted to him by the King of Slumberland and darkness takes over.

I think the movie you're trying to find is Ringing Bell

There were 7 wizards that each had their own dragon (maybe a different number). They all had different colors-blue, green, yellow, red, etc... A game designer falls into their world and goes on some adventure. The wizards are trying to figure out how to stop the advance of science in their world, or something to that effect. The red wizard is evil and he turns into a dragon that is like a hydra (cut off his head, 2 more come back). At the end, the game designer makes a game about it.
They get some giant or ogre drunk at an inn. That's about all I remember. I used to rent it from a store that has since gone out of business. Any clues would be appreciated!
