Forums: Final Fantasy 8 Movie ??

Hello!

I&#194&#180ve heard something about making a film of the great PSX-Game Final Fantasy 8 by Squaresoft. The film company Square Pictures told, after Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, they want to make some more movies in this animated style. I like the first film of them, so i would like to see more movies by Square. And i also love the game Final Fantasy 8 ! But i&#194&#180ve nothing found in the web about this...

So can anybody tell me if this information of making a movie of FF8 is true?

FFX is a playstation2 game that later spawned a sequel, FFX-2. There are not plans to make either into a movie. What else do you want to know?

FF VIII was my favorite one, the moment i saw advent children, i wanted one for VIII

I rescently saw Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, I must say, that it is truelly one of the most visually stunning movies I have ever seen. The full cast of FF7, make an apearance, well those that didn't die in the game, and some that did. It is basically one big fight from begining to end, and the story is fantastic. It pics up about a year or so from where the game ends, and yes it explains the whole meteor thing. I had to watch it in Japanese with english subtitles, but it was deffinately worth it, I can't wait to see it again after they do the English voice overs. All in all I would say that it was one of the best animated movies I have ever seen.

Obviously this is an old thread but I still wanted to comment, because it needs to be done. I'm sorry but the dubbed was SOO not as good as the original wording. now obviously it's not easy to fill the empty space in dubbing nor cut it short, and they did an excellent job with it. but it's still not the same, the vocab and style of speech is soo boring in the english dub. However! definitely well done. sense a simple doso can mean "come in, sit down, have some tea, make yourself comfortable." lol, they did do a great job.

FFVIII does not even come close to VII

_yet again this is a dead horse thread, but I must say_
You are absolutely 100% right my friend (to a degree), even though the battle system, the complexities, and side quest derivatives of FFVII were superior, those as I ( a #1 fan) love FFVIII because of how easily you can become consumed in the persona of the main character Squall. and endure the life struggles he faces and the love he nearly loses. However, there are those as you and many others who enjoy the simple pleasures of the combat and the character development (now any game sephiroth is in (with the exception of Energize) is amazing) and beauty of two opponents facing it out all the way to the death. Especially between one as vial as Sephiroth and as Heroic as Cloud.

(NOT to say everyone is this way!)
