  • Go look at the topic What Kind of Spy Movies Are Better, in this section. It has been talked about in there. I started that topic back in January.

  • It seems to be down to Clive Owen and Hugh Jackman.
I think Djimon Hounsou is pretty suave-looking, but all the other Bonds have been Caucasian, so I'm probably hoping for nothing...

    That would be interesting...

  • Not really. That would be just plain f*cking stupid. That's like getting Michael Clarke Duncan to play Frodo.

  • and keep his eyes open to a reasonable extent!!!

Did you see Djimon on Alias recently? He was the bomb-DIGGITY. He was beyond my human explanations: wonderful, articulate, evil, yet somehow you wanted to ride off into the sunset with him. I hadn't reacted that way to a character since... well, since Sark. But still, if I could get some of those Angel fan/zealots to back me up... we'd be seeing him sipping martinis and driving cars. Amd charming the pants off women. And showing up on Celebrity Jeopardy thirty years later mispronouncing the names of categories.

  • I heard Jason Statham was a possibility for a while. Is that true or is it just my imagination? I think he'd make an awesome bond, although I can't imagine him with hair... and I guess he's a bit short... oh well.

    I also heard Sean Bean...

  • I would have said Sean Bean a long time ago, and he would be probably the best choice I can think of (and he f*cking rules), except for the fact that he's already been in a bond film as a villain.

Haven't thought of him, but he could nail the role a la Connery, at least in looks.

Too recognizable, I don't want to see a suave Maximus.

  • Yeah, people have often said Russell crowe, but I just don't see it. He doesn't really seem right.
Jude Law, on the other hand... might be a good Bond. He looks right, and I think that the movies could provide him with bread and screen time for the next few years, both of which he deserves.
