  • 1. This side of the Truth
    2. State of Play
    3. Up
    4. Nine
    5. Brothers
    6. Shutter Island
    7. The Lovely Bones
    8. The Road
    9. Watchman
    10. Avatar

'The Informant' was originally on this list at number 5, but after seeing "Brothers", I truly believe this film should replace it. Any thoughts, or suggested changes that need to be made?

  • Well, for starters, you clearly haven't seen four of these films because they haven't been released yet, and Shutter Island is not even a 2009 film; it's being released next February.

That said, Watchmen and Up are likely to make my top ten. Brothers won't. The rest are up in the air so far.

  • Well, they are screening it to critics this week so maybe he did see it.

  • Be that as it may--and it's highly unlikely--there's no way in hell he's seen Shutter Island.

  • Josh, haven't you ever heard of Fantasticfest they've screened at that festival so, he probably saw it there.

  • Star Trek, Up, Watchman, The Hangover, District 9, Adventureland, the Hurt Locker would be in my top ten for this year.

  • That's the first I've heard about them screening Shutter Island anywhere, so I'll take it with a grain of salt. I haven't heard any news of them screening it at FF.

  • Zombieland
    Star Trek
    Taken
    Watchmen
    The Hangover
    District 9
    Ponyo
The Men Who Stare at Goats

I still need to see a sh*tload more. I haven't seen The Hurt Locker, The Road, Crazy Heart, Where the Wild Things Are; and A Serious Man was at the top of my list this year and I still haven't seen that. But out of what I've seen this year, those ones come to mind.
