  • As of right this minute... I can't pick. There're still too many movies I haven't seen yet. Lemme catch up on M:I 4, Apes, and Tattoo and I'll show you my picks. XD
Wontons and Cloverfield. What else is new?

  • My top picks:

1: Harry Potter 7 (Part 2) - Such an epic masterpiece and an amazing end to a great long-running franchise.
2: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes - Weta Digital does it again, and the film was so great, epic, and emotional.
3: Rango - Got me by surprise. Such an entertaining animated film, and Gore Verbinski has done it again.
4: Super 8 - I mostly liked how the main kids were filming and trying to make a movie during the 1970s.
5: X-Men: First Class - Great prequel, and it left me wanting more.

Honorable Mentions: Captain America, Thor, Transformers 3, Pirates 4, Hanna (I love Saoirse Ronan), and Adjustment Bureau.

Have not seen "M:I-4," "Tintin," or "Hugo" yet, but I will soon. And as for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo," I will wait for DVD because I'm not really a fan of David Fincher's work.

  • 1. Super 8
    2. Harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2
    3. Puss in Boots
    4. Sherlock Holmes a game of shadows
    5. The Tree of Life

    1. Super 8
Miles ahead of everything, I Loved that film, everything i wanted from a movie, the right touch of speilburg, the kids are better than fantastic and will have great careers, it's emotional, there are at least 3 scenes that if they wont make u cry will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand right up. And it can be very scary when it wants to, the whole thing just works perfectly, and i have never felt more emotionally connected with a film than super 8. But i must say out of a cast of fantastic young actors elle fanning and joel courtney really make it wat it is, a masterpiece, i loved it!!!

    2. HP7, im not the biggest HP fan, i dont often understand the mnovies, even less than i understand the books but it doesnt take a huge fan to see how great a conclusion to a much loved series part 2 was, i loved it.

    3. Puss in boots
Don't judge me damn it! Just a beautiful, very funny kids film.

    4. Sherlock holmes a game of shadows
Didnt see the last SH but i still loved this one, the stile, the characters, th setting, everything about this film was unique and very entertaing.

    5. The Tree of Life
Beautifully shot, beautiful in everyway, even tho i didnt get most of the symbolism :)

  • Okay, while mainstream/Hollywood films are fun and can be quite good on occasion, for heaven's sake, branch out, people! There are films in existence that DIDN'T hit Imax, weren't tagged with 3D, and don't start with the words "James Cameron" or "Steven Spielberg". Having said that...

    My top five of 2011:

    1). Bellflower
    2). Super
    3). I Saw the Devil
    4). Black Death
    5). Hobo With a Shotgun

    Honorable Mentions:

    1). Drive
    2). Stake Land
    3). Heartless
    4). Man From Nowhere

There exist four rulers in this world: Gods, Humans, Vampires and Werewolves. The Question is, who do you think is above the food chain?

  • @bryanyentz I saw Hobo With a Shotgun and Black Death, and I am sorry to say that both of these films are on my bottom 5 of the year, Hobo With a Shotgun because the only good part of the movie is Rutger Hauer; the rest is in my opinion atrocious, and Black Death because it was some of the worst continuity I've ever seen, and because Sean Bean was typical Sean Bean. While I appreciate your appreciation for very limited releases I must argue that there is a reason that most mainstream movies. I intend to see Drive as well, I've heard nothing but great things about it. Oh, and did you see 13 Assassins?

It's a bit incomplete, as there are several films I haven't had the chance to see yet that have a good chance of ending up on my top ten (e.g, Take Shelter, Another Earth, Beginners, The Descendants, Weekend, The Artist, Dragon Tattoo, etc.), but it's what I could get in before the deadline.
