OK, first of all i just want to say i firmly believe Jim Carrey has more talent in his pinky finger tahn Adam Sandler has in his entire body. But their best movies are comparable.

top 5 Carrey's:

1. Ace Ventura 1+2
2. The Mask
3. Me, Myself, and Irene
4. Liar, Lair
5. Bruce Almighty

Top 5 Sandlers:

1. Billy Madison
2. Happy Gilmore
3. Anger Managment
4. Big Daddy
5. Punch Drunk Love

So, which list is more impressive? Which is the better Comedy Superstar?

Jim Carrey is much better. Adam Sandler goes for the cheap laughs (ex. Billy Madison). Bruce Almighty is the funniest movie ever because of Carrey. I think Sandler is better in his more serious roles (ex. 50 First Dates).

I'd rather watch Adam Sandlers movies. I understand Jum Carrey might be more talented, but Liar Liar is about the only movie of his I would care to watch again. Adam Sandler's movies have more replay value, IMO.

By the way, I think The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates should knock off Anger Managment and Big Daddy from your list...

I agree about sandler being funnier, Except for Liar, Liar and Bruce Almighty, I have not thought of a Carrey movie to be that funny since the Mask. I like all of the sandler movies even, Eight Crazy Nights and Little Nicky, Mr Deeds was one of my Favriotes

I was disapointed with Bruce Almighty. I thought the first half of the movie was very funny, but the last half of it fell flat.

By the way, I think The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates should knock off Anger Managment and Big Daddy from your list...

Anger Management was good because Sandler played a good role. Once again, I must remind you of his crappy role and performance in Billy Madison. However, I will give him points for Happy Gilmore. Jim Carrey was excellent in Bruce Almighty and Ace Ventura (even though that really wasn't a great movie). I don't think that Jim Carrey will be good in the upcoming Series of Misfortunate Events mainly because he is playing a villain who in the books is supposed to be uptight and serious.

Okay but u gotta admit anybody in High School or lower holds Billy Madison has the holy bible of fart jokes. Lemony Snicket looks like another great oppritunity for Jim to play play a completly different role. And he also has the grinch under his belt. I think Carrey is the winner. Although both put me in stiches.

The difference is that most of Carrey's movies tend to fall flat after repeat viewings. The Mask is still pretty funny, but the others just don't hold up. Sandler movies, on the other hand, give it a little while and after multiple viewings you're still laughing. I've seen Happy Gilmore eight times and it's still funny. Heck, various Adam Sandler scenes got me through a wisdom tooth removal!

Need I say more? Sandler at his funniest is not as funny as Jeff Daniels in that movie!!
Don't get me wrong Sandler is great but c'mon!

I like some of Carey's movies, but most of the time, he's too over-the-top for his own good.

Personally I don't think either Carrey or Sandler are funny, but with roles like The Truman Show and especially Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Carrey has shown that he is more dynamic in his acting ability. Unlike Sandler whose acting range goes from marble mouthed loser to over the top annoying frat boy. As far as I'm concerned I find Carrey's body of work far more appealing than Sandler's.

Carey is better in my opinion, he is a major funny guy, but this guy can act as well. Sandler is not that funny in my opinion, just loud! Plays the same character in every film. I did like Happy Gilmore, and I did like The Waterboy but everything else is rubbish!

Jim Carey is a talented comic and knows what his audence are after.

Sandler. Billy Madison alone is reason for him being the best.

I think the difference is Carrey and Sandler started out very similar. The difference is that Carrey chose to elevate his career to the next level with movies like the Truman Show, the Majestic, and Eternal Sunshine, which was spectacular. Sandler has made an attempt as of lately, with movies like Punch Drunk Love and 50 First Dates, but i dont think he has the talent Carrey does to become a great all around actor. Im stickin with Carrey, although both are hilarious and Billy Madison is great.

Little Nicky and 8 Crazy Nights are two of the worst films that have been made to date. Terrible terrible terrible. Okay, little nicky had a few laughs (8crazy nights had none).

bruce almighty was good for the first half or so, but then it lost it.

they're both funny guys and have great movies that have replay value, but they are also responsible for bad movies.
