Amanda Pays, who played geneticist Dr. Tina McGee in the original 1990 TV series The Flash, has signed on to reprise her role in The CW's reboot. She joins returning 90s cast mate John Wesley Shipp, who played the title character the first time around, and is now playing the father of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in this new version of The Flash.

Instead of working for S.T.A.R. Labs like she did in the 1990 show, this incarnation of Tina McGee is actually working for a rival company that is interested in Barry Allen's new powers.

Here's what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say about the casting.

"When we decided to bring Tina onto our version of The Flash, who better to get than the amazing actress who originated the part? Like with John Wesley Shipp, we are so proud and excited to have another actor from the original series join us on our new adventures for Barry Allen."

It isn't clear when Amanda Pays will debut as Tina McGee, or how many episodes she will appear in during Season 1.
