We're pleased to announce that Austin-based filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and director Nimród Antal will present a "First Look" at their upcoming motion picture Predators, at SXSW on March 12, 2010.

A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez's creative auspices at the filmmaker's Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne.

The special presentation of Predators will take place at the Alamo Ritz Theater in downtown Austin, at 10:15pm. Doors open at 9:45pm, and the special event is only open to SXSW Badge-holders on a first-come, first-served basis. An audience Q&A follows the unveiling.

We are also announcing the world premiere of Géla Babluani's 13, the previously announced Super Secret TBA as part of the SX Fantastic midnight section. 13, a remake of the 2005 French film 13 Tzameti, also directed by Babluani, stars Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Ben Gazzara, and Alexander Skarsgard. The thriller follows the story of Vince, who unwittingly becomes involved in a degenerate, clandestine world of mental chaos behind closed doors. The screening will take place at Midnight on Saturday, March 13 at the Alamo South Lamar Theater.

Predators was released July 9th, 2010 and stars Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo, Louis Ozawa Changchien. The film is directed by Nimród Antal.

13 was released October 28th, 2011 and stars Jason Statham, Alexander Skarsgård, Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ray Winstone, 50 Cent, Gaby Hoffmann. The film is directed by Géla Babluani.

Actually I may see Predators. They are bringing it to the Predator homeworld this time, that is awesome. And to see the most horrible Venom actor, Adrien Brody, and Morpheus get slashed up and killed in the end will be pleasing to see. Although there still exists the Alien/Predator war unresolved plot thread of AVP-3 so I don't understand where this film would take place in the timeline. It would have to be in the past, after Predator 2.

It's Adrien Brody for me. He is not selling this picture to me, he is not Hero meterial.

in Aliens, they was sean big time. And your all forgetting Predator 2. That one was extremly good also. I have no dout this one will be huge. But in AVP, they had more face time early, couse ot was a three way fight so to speak. And AVP R was the same issue. But I still think they both was good. Not Predator one or Aliens good, but up there. But you all have to remember, that after you see what they look like, as a race, say in the other films, the sneak and hide way would be over done. Now it could work in this one, but still not as good as sneak and hunt of the first ones.

keeping expectation low for movies is the best way to minimize disappointment.

I really have tried to keep my expectations for Predators as low as I can. I mean the first is such a classic, there is no way any sequel can come close. I think this will show far too much of the predators and forced action because that seems to be all audiences care about anymore. Why can't these directors realize that Alien, Aliens and Predator all worked because of the atmosphere and the limited time we saw the creatures... If you add up the screentime of the alien in Aliens I will bet it is under 10 minutes.
