While fans keep waiting for The Wire reunion to happen, series stars Idris Elba and Dominic West are set to "reunite" on the big screen in a much different way. Dominic West revealed in a recent interview that both he and Idris Elba are voicing characters in the Pixar animated sequel Finding Dory.

Here's what Dominic West had to say in a recent interview with ShortList, where he confirmed the casting.

"I saw Idris recently. We're both in the sequel to Finding Nemo, so we were recording that. I'm in pretty regular contact with a lot of guys from The Wire - a lot of them are godparents to my kids, so I love them dearly."

No details were given regarding the characters both Idris Elba and Dominic West are voicing in the animated sequel, but they join a cast that includes Finding Nemo stars Ellen DeGeneres (Dory), Albert Brooks (Marlin) and Gill (Willem Dafoe). New cast members include Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as Dory's parents, Jenny and Charlie, and Ty Burrell as Bailey. The story revolves around Dory trying to reunite with her family.

Andrew Stanton is directing from a screenplay by Victoria Strouse, with Pixar setting a June 17, 2016 release date for the animated sequel.

Idris Elba stars in the thriller No Good Deed, which hits theaters this weekend, and he is also set to voice Shere Khan in The Jungle Book. Dominic West stars in the upcoming Showtime series The Affair, which debuts October 12.
