Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson is taking the female lead in director Luca Guadagnino's remake A Bigger Splash.

The film will be based on the 1969 French crime drama A Bigger Splash, which follows an uneasy love triangle that forms between a couple and a young woman during the couple's vacation. Their tryst leads to a shocking and unexpected conclusion.

Dakota Johnson will play the younger woman, with Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes playing the couple on vacation.

David Kajganich, who has previously been tasked with writing the Escape from New York and Pet Sematary remakes, will pen the screenplay.

Shooting is set to start in Italy next month.
