Back in January, a report surfaced that The Walking Dead spinoff would be called Fear the Walking Dead, although that title was never confirmed. Until today. The Walking Dead comic book creator Robert Kirkman took to his Twitter account, revealing that the spinoff series will in fact be called Fear the Walking Dead. This news comes just hours after we reported that the first trailer for the spinoff will air during Sunday night's episode of The Walking Dead after-show Talking Dead.

It's worth noting that the January report also revealed that one of the main characters in Fear the Walking Dead will appear in a six-episode arc in The Walking Dead Season 6. However, that may not be the case, since the spinoff series is now set to debut this summer, months before Season 6 will air. Since we know that the first trailer for Fear the Walking Dead is debuting this weekend, perhaps this main character will pop up at the end of the Season 5 finale. Fear the Walking Dead was given a two-season order by AMC, and perhaps we'll learn an exact premiere date during Sunday night's Talking Dead as well.

Fear the Walking Dead will be set in Los Angeles and follows a new group of characters trying to survive in the zombie apocalypse. The series stars Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. Robert Kirkman co-created the show with Dave Erickson, both of whom will serve as executive producers alongside Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert. Take a look at Robert Kirkman's tweet below, and stay tuned for more details regarding Fear the Walking Dead. Do you think this title is a good match?
