After a long delay in shooting due to the passing of original franchise star Paul Walker, it looks like things are starting to wind down on the Fast & Furious 7 set. Dwayne Johnson said his goodbyes to the cast and crew yesterday. Now, Universal Pictures, confident that they have a great movie ready for release, have decided to bring the latest installment of their Fast & Furious franchise to fans one week early.

Originally slated to hit theaters on April 10, Dom, Brian and the rest of the gang will go on their latest mission starting April 3, 2015. That slides it up against the Nicholas Sparks romance The Longest Ride, which is sure to bring some stiff competition at the box office. The April 3 release slot was once occupied by the latest installment of Fast & Furious 7 director James Wan's Insidious Chapter 3 (he's producing this time out). That horror sequel has been moved to May 29, 2015.

The plot behind Fast & Furious 7 has not been revealed. It will, however, make time to see Paul Walker's character retired as Brian O'Conner officially walks off into the sunset with his wife (Jordana Brewster) and child.

Are you excited to see Fast & Furious 7 a full 7 days early?
