Visionary director Zack Snyder is one of the most exciting and visually stimulating filmmakers working today. He first gained attention for his groundbreaking remake of George A. Romero's classic horror film Dawn Of The Dead. He then followed that up with two movies adapted from comic books, the extremely successful "sword & sandal" film 300 based on legendary comic book scribe Frank Miller's popular comic and Watchmen based on equally legendary comic book writer Alan Moore's seminal graphic novel, which is considered by many to be one of the greatest comic books of all-time. Since then the director has been feverishly busy working on two projects, the 3D computer-animated family film Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole based on the successful series of books by author Kathryn Lasky and Sucker Punch starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish and Vanessa Hudgens, which is based on an original idea about a group of young girls living in a mental institution.

With Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole opening in theaters on September 24th and Sucker Punch scheduled for release in the spring, Snyder is already busy working on his next project ... a sequel to 300 called Xerxes, based on Frank Miller's upcoming follow-up to his classic story. We recently had a chance to speak with Zack Snyder while he was out promoting Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and we asked the accomplished director to tell us a little bit about his next project, Xerxes.

"Well I'm writing the sequel to 300, that's what I'm working on now. It's based on Frank's next comic. He keeps sending me pages and I keep writing away. Sucker Punch is almost done and we're about half way through the script for Xerxes. Those are the things that I'm focusing on right now. I'm just trying to get Xerxes up."
