A biopic about Elton John's life is in the works and the British singer recently revealed who tops his wish list of actors to play himself:

"I've got a wish list of people. No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and was superb."

Elton John added that the film will feature songs from his career and possibly a few new ones. Written by Billy Elliot scribe, Lee Hall, the singer describes the film as a "surreal" look at his life rather than a strictly factual account, much in the vein of Moulin Rouge. The singer also confirmed they've found a director, although it won't be Moulin Rouge's Baz Luhrmann.

"We tried to get Baz, but Baz is so busy. We can't announce it yet, but we have got someone on board that we're very excited about."

Elton John says they're currently working on the script "and then we'll start trying to cast and plan."
