Plot Based on the original Japanese animated series that ran in the late 60s, Speed Racer: The Next Generation is a new take on the show. This 66 minute movie kicks off the series, introducing a young race car driver named Speed, an orphan with a preternatural ability behind the wheel. He enrolls at the prestigious Racing Academy to pursue his talent, but danger seems to lurk around every corner: winning a race is a goal that some, like evil billionaire Zile Zazic will go to any lengths to reach, no matter how sinister.
