Alvin and the Chipmunks Bing Bang the DVD Sales Charts

"AAAALLLVVVIIINNNN!" Yes, another sign that the apocalypse is upon us. The live action-animation feature Alvin and the Chipmunks made bank this Tuesday when it sold an estimated 2.6 million DVDs to become the fast selling DVD of the year. According to Variety, Dave and his rodent trio outpaced the sale of both the Enchanted DVD and the I Am Legend DVD.

The film grossed more than $350 million at the worldwide box office, making it one of the biggest theatrical hits of last year. The DVD is being promoted with a Get Munked mall tour. The live show has hit Chicago, Seattle, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Atlanta, St. Louis, San Diego and Salt Lake City.

A second Alvin and the Chipmunks is currently in the works, and will most likely focus on the Chipmunks' sisters.

Awwww.. C'mon.. those chipmunks were cute though!!! Kids and paresnt eat that shit up!!!

I appreciate the heads up to taking a closer look at ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS, ShareDaddy. I'm always interested in CGI animation for whatever it's worth.

We all thought it was a good movie and only two of my kids are near the target age listed by CD below. CC this is not what you think, it still has the same old beloved songs, however there are a couple of newer or hipper songs, but that is the point of the movie, they will always be our chipmunks not the new jive version. Check it out worth a watch.

From the looks of the poster, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS look like Chpmunks in the hood. The target audience fans must of trashed the display like they usually do in their own neighborhood like when they burned down and looted West L.A. or Watts. If you turn out the electricity in a city, any city...guarantee it's going to be looted and burned.

Went to buy it for my daughter and the display was destroyed. Haven't watched it yet, but I'm sure she'll have me watch it soon.
