When a renegade military scientist with a personal grudge against Charles Xavier tries to kick start the war between humans and mutants, the X-men find themselves fighting not only for their own existence, but to protect every mutant on the planet. The battle forces them into a most unlikely alliance; one that could have terrible consequences. And in the midst of this maelstrom, Wolverine begins to piece together the mystery of his past.
