i received this movie by accident from netflix, thinking i had queued up the wes craven movie which i still haven't seen, so initially my reaction to realizing i had gotten the wrong movie was "aww", but it didn't take long for my reaction to change.

aside from some over-the-top acting this movie is... well, it's kinda bad-ass.

i happen to be a fan of ghost movies, especially of asian ghost movies because let's face it, no one does ghost movies like the asians, which is probably why most if not almost all of the us' ghost movies of the past several years have been remakes of asian movies, ie the ring, the grudge, dark water, etc etc etc.

this movie offers up a fairly straight-forward story about the farewell trip of a long-running train route upon which there was once a devastating accident where in many people were killed, and the main character is a girl whose father was killed in said accident.

it has lots of great split-second shots to tease your imagination, some grudge-like moments including a female with a deathly stare, some possession, some incest between psychotic siblings, lots of beautiful shots and photography, a great and creepy score with some nice atmospheric music tossed in here and there to level it all off.

i say check it out; the bad acting isn't really that big of a deal since these people are speaking a foreign language, in fact you might not even notice the bad acting unless you watch lots of asian movies.

enjoy!
