An incredible film about a resillent boy with a heart of gold who chooses to rise out of his caste system by being a contestant on a game show while he is pursing the girl of his dreams. A little man wins and a class picture all in one. This is a rare formula of filmmaking. No wonder why this film won 8 well-deserved Oscars. The cinemaphotography and vibrant music creates an energy that actively shapes the scene. This film has so many meanings and themes on so many levels--it's multi-faceted. This film is about choices and survival in a culture that has long clung to traditions and a caste system. In a short time with technology, money, and Western Influence, India's traditions are slowly dissolving and the caste system is becoming fluid and this film shows exactly this through two brothers' choices of good and evil.

Diaigma--Does it really matter? Perhaps because I watch more DVD/Blu-rays than I see movies.

How come your DVD/Blu-ray reviews are longer than your Movie reviews?
