This 3-disc set kicks things off with the episode "Good Times With Weapons," and what a great start to another great season. Stone and Parker not only deliver the hilariousness(such as when Butters gets a throwing star thrown in his eye), they also attempt a daring move with the animation, which proves successful. The episodes switches from the shows regualr animation to anime-style is, well, awesome. The style is not only cool, it's hysterical to see the boys as ninja warriors, Cartman epecially. The episode has quickly become not only one of the best of this season, but all seasons.
Every episode after that delivers the South Park laughs...and controversy. "The Passion of the Jew" episode delves into the fragile issue of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Crist," which was a box-office sensaton at the time. Stone and Parker successfully ridicule the crazy antics of director Gibson, while delivering another memorable Cartman evil-moment, this time having him pretend to be Hitler and lead a group of people into killing the Jewish community...FUNNY.
It's that kind of daring spectacle that makes Stone and Parker comic geniuses. They dare go where other creators don't to fully "fight the system" no matter what controversy they stir up. BUT the season does have it's misses such as the "Pre-School" episode, which wasn't that great, but it's only one flaw in a batch of greats.
"Stupid Spoiled Whor* Video Playset" continues Matt and Trey's pursuit to take down celebrities, this time going after Paris Hilton in another hilarious rip, exploring why parents let thier young girls idolize that bitch. What follows is a "whor* off" that will have you laughing your genitals off.
To end the season, Trey and Matt, after thinking they wouldn't have another episode, give us one of the sickest episodes in SP history titled "Woodland Critter Christmas." Sounds cute, right? Wrong. Stan is duped into helping a group of critters build a manger for thier lord and savior. It's later that he learns they actually serve Satan. What ensues is a blood orgy-yep you heard that right. Trey and Matt do not disapoint when it comes to doing the extreme.
The extras aren't that great, though. The seasons only give commentary of Trey and Matt, which is good, but that's it. The extras don't have any influence on how the episodes are, though.
The replay value is excellent, and the epeisodes are so good, you'll want to watch them again and again, like with any other SP season. All in all, South Park's eighth season is comedy gold and is ranked up thier with the best of them.

The Passion of the Jew is one of my favorite episodes ever. When Kyle comes and admits to Cartman he was wrong the whole time, and Cartman screws up his face and closes his eyes and is all, "MMMMM, One more time Kyle," I just about piss myself every time. Glad to see one of the funniest shows ever is getting the respect it deserves.
