Tenacious D: The Complete Master Works DVD: Review By Rock

I have yet to find a dvd with a version of Dont fear the reaper that i dont end up loving

Now if you like some old school rock and roll and enjoy absurd and humorous lyrics Then Tenaciuos D is for you

And this is quite a nice double disc to have, tons of great stuff on it

1- youve got a 1h15 min concert shot at Brixton acedemy : one of the best live concert i have seen on dvd , nicely shot Jack black is one hell of a energetic performer and he goes so well with Kyle's calm , stoic and by times creepy face look. Has for the music well in my opinion Tenecious D are quite the accomplish musicians , Kyle Glass is one hell of an accoustic guitar player and the lyrics are left to personal taste but they do write amazing music , that no one could denied , some riff are remiscent of Led zeppelin and stuff from that era mix in with good recent rock n roll and heavy metal music. Jack blacks voice range is also mesmerizing , he can change his style of singning everytimes he feels like . My favorite song from them is by far wonderboy followed closely by Tribute

2-The tenacious d episodes that aired on HBO ( about 1h15min for all) : you get to ear some of the songs from the concert in some sketch but theres a story attach to it , some are damn hilarious . The sasqatch one and The fan one are the best .Sasquatch drumm solo is hilarious and i love the rare tenacious D trio with the fan song

3-3 HBO shorts that they air during their concert : really funny but if your homophobic and dont find gross humor funny , skip it , me I love a good Yeeeeeeeeeewwwwww hhhahahahahhahahhahahah

4-Tv apperance : mostly songs you already eard in the concert but with the shows band(well exept for the crank yankers one , thats done with puppets) , the one with Conan O'briens crew is quite good

5-music videos ( and their making of) : 3 pretty good songs Tribute, wonderboy FHG and good videos specially Wonderboy ,nice production on that one , aore the look of it
